That feature is called a child safety lock and you have it on most of the vehicles.
I must have been since it wasn't on my previous Boxster.

E200C-Fully loaded, Obsidian Black, ILS, Panoramic roof and some other bits and pieces.

Boxster is more of a non-family car, and it's a coupe.
That's probably why it didn't have it.
The feature is quite useful but annoying at the same time.
Imagine having both of the back door’s child lock activated and someone wants to get off the car, then you need to play the smiley chauffer part.

I think this depends on your phone. It is very easy on the iphone, just one button on the screen and your conversation goes thought the phone's mic/speakers (but the car stereo is still muted). Also, if I pick up the call through the phone (not by pressing any of the car's buttons) it will go directly to the phone and not the car stereo. Very usefull.

On mine, you need to program it before the passenger mirror will tilt downward in reverse gear. Here are the instructions:
Storing a parking position

To make it easier to park, you can store the front-passenger side exterior mirror position in such a way that you can see the rear wheel on that side as soon as you engage reverse gear.

You can store a parking position for the exterior mirror on the front-passenger side using the memory button.

You will find information about using the exterior mirror's parking position in the "Parking aid" section more.

<1> Exterior mirror on the driver's side
<2> Exterior mirror on the front-passenger side
<3> Adjustment button
<4> Memory button

Make sure that the vehicle is stationary and that the key is in position 2 in the ignition lock.

Press button <2> for the exterior mirror on the front-passenger side.

Use adjustment button <3> to adjust the exterior mirror to a position which allows you to see the rear wheel and the kerb.

Press memory button M <4> .

Press one of the arrows on adjustment button <3> within three seconds.

The parking position is stored if the exterior mirror does not move.
Hope this helps.

Initially this didn't work. This not even in my manual.

What I did was start the car and put in reverse, then set the passenger side mirror all the way down to see the lines on ground in the parking spot, then press the memory button only.

To test this, press he left mirror button and should notice that the right mirror moved back to the regular position. Then press the right mirror button and the mirror will tilt back down. All this with car in Reverse.

Now everytime I put the car in reverse, the mirror tilts and will move back when I switch the gear. Remember that the right mirror button should be last active button for the mirror to tilt automatically.

nickm,

I don't think it is specific to Canadian model. Can other US C class owners confirm this?

Unfortunately, for 2008 anyway, the US models do not have a tilt feature when going into reverse. I have not heard anything about it being included for 2009.

Is the "R Tilt-Down" mirror feature only available as part of Memory Seats option?

I think the way you'd have to do that is to place each finger between a pair of window buttons or have some radical surgery that widens each finger quite a bit.

27) slight tap on blinker gives a short 3 blinks for lane changes
What is it?

37) you only get the beep beep beep on the alarm if you actually have an alarm. otherwise just lights will flash.
How to disable alarm?

"hold alarm on/off pointed at small square on driver's-side door handle to open/close sunroof and windows."

Guide me through this. Doing this would be a sick way to show off

So you press and hold the alarm button and aim the key at the driver door...
do the windows go up or down? I thought it would be something like you hold the open button to bring all the windows down, and close to bring them up...
Since there is only one button, which way do they go?

Does this process open the panorama roof? And if it does, how does it open it, tilt or slide?

OK so there is no need to point it a the small square. If you hold theunlock button down, all the windows and sunroof (slide) will open. If you hold the lock button down, all the windows that are open and the sunroof will close.

You have to hold the button down until fully open or close, if you let go, it will stop.

I did this the other night with a friend's new C (new 2008) and the pano roof did not open/close.

But, when I paused closing mid-way up, then pushed close again, they resumed properly.

Don't press the alarm button, you'll just get a scare!

Here is a new, if you have it as a standard option, I have it.

The Cooling/AC/Fan with a knob in glove compartment.

I have a knob in the glove compartment and it controls the opening and closing of the the vent in the glove compartment to allow for cooling or heating.

New to MBWorld and thanks for the insight. One really convenient feature, although not really a secret, is being able to open the trunk without having to push a button inside. The car just has to be unlocked. I think all cars I've owned before this one, you've either needed a key, had to press a button on the driver's door or needed the key fob. Super convenient.
