Everyone probably knows that you can close your windows and moon-roof by holding down the lock button on your key. But I wonder why they made it so that we have to hold it down. I wish there was some feature you could enable where the windows would automatically go up/close when you lock the car. Seems much more logical.

Feature above would not be usefull because it would close all windows everytime I lock the car but what if you wanted to leave the windows down a bit or the sunroof open a tad in the hot summer here to clear the hot air? I would rather have a choice than for it to do automatically.

Help!

So the secret command menu that we should be carfeul in not changing. Well I don't know what I changed, I got a little carried away, and now my navi totally disappeared from my screen. Does anyone have the original settings, that I can adjust it to. Thanks! I have the C300 '08 sport with the mm package.

My ex-BMW E46 had the feature much better implemented than Mercedes since :

- Based on RF and not on IR (what were they thinking ?)
- No need to hold down the remote. Long press and that's it. Probably one of those pesky EU-US differences...

The old W202 had IR-remotes, the FBS3 lock system uses RF

IR is for opening and closing all windows . summer feature
RF is for the rest .

RF should have been for all including windows.

"(what were they thinking ?)"

Probably a good thing to be in visible range of the car when you want to roll down the windows using the key,
I dont think anyone would be laughing if the windows went down in pouring rain due to the key being pressed in your pocket.

Anyone know how to put it back to the US settings, I'm stuck with the TMC mode display on my navigation, and it will not access any local POI?

Do you have a picture of TMC mode display?, If you change the Nav setting to aftermarket option, you will not see the map anymore.

It's located on the drive side door handle near the key hole.

I'm not saying it was the system, but I never figuered how if happened. Even so, I would much rather have it RF (I never use that feature in my w204 just because I have to point at the door).

I'm saying there should be an option in the instrument cluster where you can enable/disable the feature.

It would be like this:

Enable = all windows up when locking car.
Disabled = what we have now.

And yeah, the IR is pretty bad too. Makes it hard to use.

Anyone figure out if the US 2009 w204 has the ability to move the side mirrors while reversing? I know there were posts and Canada models work, but I wasn't sure if this worked in a 2009 w204 in the US . I tried following the directions and couldn't figure it out.

Access engineering menu >dvd settings > remaining change and press "hang-up" + "#" + "*" simultaneously. This will reset the remaining change count & you could then switch back to US.

Sorry to ask again, but does anyone know the answer to my question? I have memory seats in a 2009 US C300. I'm wondering if that adjusting passenger side mirror when in reverse works on US models?

No. I am not sure why, but it is not enabled. It may be because the selector switch for adjusting the mirror is only on for a short while after pressing it (most other cars with the feature require switching the selector switch to the passenger mirror to activate).

Here is another "secret" - of course, pressing the channel select button on the steering wheel advances the radio to to the next preset, but holding it will advance it to the next channel. When using CD or iPod holding the button fast-forwards (or reverses) the current song.

Wow, thats a very secret/tip, that was one I hadn't heard about, thanks a bunch I was wondering how to change the channel without opening of the radio dash cover, I never do as I listen to sat radio most of the time, and it seems you can only use the knob on console after opening the cover?

Thanks again, its much appreciated!

regards,

Nuke

not really a secret... more like a unknown audio function (by me at least)

apparently when you turn off the car and you are listening to a track...
it rewinds about* 10sec or so when you re start the car or player.

this way you will hear the part of the song you might have missed when taking the car off.

:\
