Retrofit 2008 mirror assembly onto 2009
Now that Benz removed the retractable mirrors - anyone take a stab at replacing the guts and putting that back in?
I'd love to get that option as I park in a commuter lot every day where people walk between cars. Generally they're very conscientious but why tempt fate.
Cheers

Tell you what, I'll trade you my mirrors for your memory seats LOL. J/K The mirrors are pretty awsome, there is some hardware in the door (retract switch) so I think it's more complicated then you think, sorry.

Next time you wash the car pay particular attention to them get alot of soap and rinse with alot of water. It seems it is just dirt that makes the squeek. I do this regularly now and no nonger have the squeek.

Anyone know if I can do the opposite? I want the little white LED light underneath each side mirror! Anyone know if the wiring is/was already in place or if it isn't gonna happen because of software programming, etc?

The white l.e.d. or puddle lights have been dropped from the website...could mean there is a problem in manufacturing or that they just decided not to offer them. As far as the original question, from my understanding the Canadian models still offer the folding mirrors so having them fit onto a 2009 model is no problem, making them work might be another story. If its already wired then its easy plug and play, not forgetting to install the switch on the door panel. If not, I would advise against mucking about the wiring system as that would be the first reason to void your warranty.
By the way..my R class has the puddle lights and I love them..surprisingly they light up the ground quite a bit at night.

My R has them in both the driver and passenger mirrors, so I would assume that the C class version would as well. The R also has them for the two rear doors as well, but they aren't l.e.d. from what I can see, still bright though and serve their purpose.

anything OEM retrofit can be done. just contact Steve/MBenzNL.
I have a local place that can do Brabus puddle lights for $400 using authentic 5LED per puddle light from Brabus. availiability might not always be there tho.
