The W204 sills need some additional work. Turns out that the sills on your car can't be covered with lighted sills. The upper sill is where the lighted sills go. If you do that, then you will be showing 2 logos, upper lit, and lower unlit. I'm asking the mfg to make a blank cover for the bottom sill, then we may have a workable situation. "

He also was kind enough to include a picture of what it would look like (without that blank cover). So W204 owners will still have to wait until that is resolved.
So did Jerry mentioned he has the instruction on how to install them? I am not sure how you can remove the bottom logo without avoiding scratching the car. Covering it up would be interesting to see.

wow!! I cant believe nobody on this WHOLE forum opted for the OEM illuminate door sills!

I challenge somebody to show me a picture of a forum member who has a w204 and the illuminated door sill installed... you wont find it!

You do know that even W201 and W124 owners have been installing these things for years . . .

No He didn't. I dont believe the original will be removed at all, the illuminated unit will go right over it :weird:

In hindsight, I should have just gotten the dealer to do it when i bought it. I might still get them to do it

Just take it to a car audio shop that you trust and get it done. Mine was done with no problems and I avoided the "bent over w/o lube feeling" going to the dealership...02.

Just curious, can you remove the door sill like the plastic piece that is on most of the car today or is the door sill sticking pretty good to your car now? I ask that b/c I would like to know what wires your audio shop used to power them up. It would help most on this board to figure that out.

That does not make sense at all. It looks like you will have to drill a hole if that was the case. But cannot tell unless the original is removed. I would rather leave it as what the pic has and blank out the original.

Anyway, I was on formymercedes.com site last night and it looks like he pulled the doorsill for the W204.

Thanks! The wiring is what most of us is waiting on. Yours does light up individually right?

It can't be that hard two wires max one to ground the other to the door switch. Now I just have to find the door switch. As far as the existing sill I was thinking of fabing a cover from the black non-slip tape they sell for truck beds.

I manged to yank the bulb on the bottom out but stinking MB used a generic blue flat cable Hopefully AMGFan will get us the wire corresponding to each door.

Jerry should include a cover for the original sill instead of installing the sill over it!

Custom Illuminating Door Sills

I got mine from Jerry, but Ive got a 2 door, CLK 430..it may be easier to just get a new 2 door Benz. kidding..I had my shop take off my OEM door sill and place the new one in its place. I wanted to keep the integrety of the door sills font reflecting the "Mercedes V8" oem, so Jerry hooked me up and had a custom graphic do these for me..let me know what you guys think..
Be well

Here's what the Factory door sill kit looks like.

A bit more involved because it has a control module, relays, and plugs into the front CAM unit on the passenger side.

I will be doing a install DIY next week when time permits. (Here's a link to the other DIY I did) https://mbworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=262634

I did the C63 diffuser w/quad tip install today so my play time is over..... for today.

W204
The OEM ones connect to the cars electrical system and do not cause any errors. I have a set of OEM ones that I will fit to my W204 using the correct MB method. When I do I will post a DIY with some photos.

I wouldnt purchase the other ones as they do not connect to the correct part of the cars electrical system.
