Seem to be a pretty dang good deal, if they look as good as the OEM ones...
I have searched up and down the web and through a bunch of different w204 forums, but have not yet found pics and an explanation of how they were installed on an aftermarket w204.
If anybody has pics and can compare the look to OEM, can you please post?
I contacted formymercedes.com and they told me they don't have any pics of them installed on a w204 right now and that there are no instructions and that the only thing they have is this wiring diagram (see attachment image of the wiring diagram they emailed me). That is the only piece of reference material they come with.
Anybody out there no anything more or have installation tips?
I really want to buy them, but want to make sure I can install myself and that they don't look cheap first!

There are step by step instructions for installing them on a W203 in that forum. You might want to familiarize yourself with those then check with formymercedes to see if they can tell you if those will work for the W204 and, if not, what the differences are between the two.

Yeah, I'm waiting for a DIY before I pull the trigger on this....If none pop up, I'll just take it to a shop to get it installed and do some kind of reverse engineering and write my own DIY.

The instructions aren't specific to W204 but they should be relavent to the DIY install.

dang so nobody has bought them and installed yet..... crazy, since they have been out for at least 9 months now...
I will email the dude that sent me the wiring diagram and ask if it was similar to the w203
somebody needs to step up so we can do the DIY!
might be as popular as the clear markers if it easy...

I'll be taking my car in to my local shop this friday for some upgrades...I'll ask them if they know anything about the wiring and see what info I can gleam. I might just take the plunge and have them install it for me and like I said, share the knowledge with the board.

Illuminated Door Sills
has anyone installed these b4? Or does anyone know anything about connecting wires to the door sensor so the sills are on only when the door is opened?
Also will it cause a computer error?

I don't think anyone has done sills yet. Should just be a straight forward install two wires one to a hot sorce the second to the switch in the door sill. But I could be wrong.

I have installed door sills on my estate c-class
i got the MB dealer to do the work and its work great in dark when the the blue "Mercedes-Benz" logo apears when doors are opened.

Hey Azn_C300,
is the light turning on and off correctly with the door just depend on me wiring it to a switch or something that only turns on when the door is opened?
So copies won't cause a computer error?

I was going to do it on my clk previously but never got to it. You need to find the cable that power up the bottom door light when the door opens up and tap it to power up the door sill. I don't think it will give you a computer error by doing that.
I've always wonder if the OEM door sill would be tapped but it sound like it is integrated by maybe plugging into one of the open slots. But not sure how it would sync up with the door opening and closing.
One thing to note is that it looks like the non OEM door sill sits on top of the plastic cover that hides the cables from what I've read?

It sits on top. Jerry at formymercedes had offered me a free set to take it to my shop and create a DIY. Taking car in today for the shop to look over some of the wiring before determining if I want to do it or not. Not sure I want my car to be a test subject, especially if drilling is involved.

Im also interested in getting these doorsills but recevied the following email from "Formymercedes":
The W204 sills need some additional work. Turns out that the sills on your car can't be covered with lighted sills. The upper sill is where the lighted sills go. If you do that, then you will be showing 2 logos, upper lit, and lower unlit. I'm asking the mfg to make a blank cover for the bottom sill, then we may have a workable situation. "
He also was kind enough to include a picture of what it would look like (without that blank cover). So W204 owners will still have to wait until that is resolved.
