Do you mean something like this?

If so just pick up a set of the chrome trim sand the chrome off (paint doesn't stick well to chrome) give it a couple coats of primer the a couple coats of black. CF inserts are optional.

yep the Bullit taillights are infact painted. (factual info from Brabus)
however its not just the outside, they also painted the inner housing.
thats why the reverse lamps look like they are a bit darker.
the headlights are painted using carbon grey not black.
I too have done the chrome->black conversion.
IMO think its the cheapest way to go.
I've been searching around for black or carbon framed headlamps as well as these taillamps but have not found any companies that are doing that yet.

For the headlight same thing. Chrome trim, remove chrome Prime 2 coats black paint two coats. I added a bit of CF seperating the headlight from the eyebrow.

Come on at the most 15 minutes of sanding. Then paint is no big deal shoot a coat then go do something else for an hour or so for the primer coats. Shoot the first real coat come back in a few hours shoot the second coat then come back in the morning. If you want shoot a coat of clear coat (I didn't) then install in the afternoon.

And one last question, do you simply just tape the trim onto the taillights with 3M tape that comes with it? Doesn't the trim protrude and look cheap or is the trim thin enough for it to look fairly flush and clean?
Thanks. I want to make sure mine looks at least as good as yours

I'm thinking of ordering the chrome tail light trim (will paint it black of course) from www.formymercedes.com and my question is, do you think the black trim will look good on my White C63 or is it too much of a contrast? Also, I have the PP with the CF spoiler, so is there going to be too much contrast going on or do you think the black tail light trim will tie in the contrasting spoiler and make it look better?

Sits flush on the 2011 and I remember it sitting flush on the 08. On both I had replaced the tape that came on the trim with real 3M not the knock off stuff that was on it. I also had more tape than them. Maybe real 3M is thinner?

'08 C300 Lux Barolo Red Beige Leather P2 MM 18" wheels '84 944
http://schaetztuning.de/
Earlier this year I bought a burled walnut/beige leather steering wheel from them that I had searching for, for three years+. It was about the same cost as MBUSA sells them for but in black only. Their service was excellent and the wheel arrived in about two weeks.

Check out the pics in my profile. There's a pic of the tail lights. Also, check out the LEDs. Let me know what you think.
I also had mercedes de-program that stupid active corner illumination function. 100% happy now. Love this beast.

You'll notice in my pics that the body shop duplicated the pics you posted exactly. This body shop mainly works on exotics. It's the only place I trusted to do this. They even painted that extra "vertical" bar at the left end of the clear (middle) light, if you know what I mean. The chrome trim solution does not have that. Mine looks exactly like the true Brabus lights.

This info may go nowhere, but you might go to this website in Munich and send them an email inquiring about the trim in black. They do sell it in chrome.

how much is 'double'? Did they remove your light and paint the inside or paint the outside of the light?

Sorry, I meant double what I thought it was going to cost me. I ended up paying $200 CDN per light. But they did a flawless job. They took the lights off, and did a tonne of prep work. They did not paint from the inside. Just the outside.
At one point, we were thinking of smoking them from the inside; i.e. opening up the lense, and do all that jazz, but I just wanted to get on with it. I emailed Brabus and they told me that the true Brabus lights are taken apart, smoked and painted from the inside, but who cares? Mine look just as good. IMO.
