it's because of iPhone.
iPhone's bluetooth only transmits voice. can not transfer contact list.

If you have MM package you can put vcard on flash card and put in dash otherwise best option is borrow a friends phone upload numbers with it and when you hook your iphone up you can use the phonebook properly

2nd option is what i did...loaded my 10-15 most used numbers with friends phone, i didnt want every number (over 100) loaded in my car

Once loaded the iPhone works great!

Or if you're like me, just manually enter the only 5 people you call.

type in anything and then the car will ask for the same password you just entered and then it will be synced

also to previous post without MM i don't think you can manually enter entries....at least i could not figure it out

MM Package is "Multimedia Package"?
This package have a Flash Card interface?

I dont send the contacts with my MB using iPhone.
Is right, BT of iPhone works with voice, but not with data.
And have another detail: Dont work with stereo earphone.

iPhone is this, beautiful but ordinary...

Dont worry.
I have one too.

You can add the numbers to the car manually. I do not know the exact method off hand but its for sure easy to do.

I think the contacts on the iphone are stored on the phone and not on the sim, so the manual method might be the only way to go. If your iphone can get the iSim app, them maybe the contacts from the iphone can be transferred to the sim (providing if there is enough space).

I will be in the same situation when/if my car arrives.

Make sure you added the contacts to the car not just let the car read them off the phone (if that is possible)

I used my roommates phone loaded 10 numbers into car...turned off his phone, turned my bluetooth on and when i went to phonebook they just showed up....the car only has 1 phonebook

hmm... thats wierd. even if i dont bring my phone into the car, the phonebook is still there. i guess try it again, maybe its a fluke thing that it got erased. i believe the phonebook in the car and the phonebook on the phone become independent of each other once loaded. ????

I just gave up uploading the phone contacts using the iphone bluetooth. The iphone is just useless.

Even on voice calls it is not clear when you put the call through the car. I'm not sure if that the problem is with just me.

But when I bluetooth my Nokia phone to the car, everything is perfect.

If you have successfully unlocked your iPhone, you may have discovered already that the voicemail button doesn't do anything at all. It won't give you visual voicemail, but you can easily get the voicemail button to work using any carrier following these steps:

1. First, take note of what your voicemail number is with your current provider (for example, in Spain the Vodafone voicemail number is 177).
2. Click on the phone button in your iPhone.
3. Click on the keypad tab.
4. Tap the following code:

*5005*86*xxx#
The xxx is the voicemail number, in our example it will read: *5005*86*177#

5. Tap call.
6. After a second, the code will have been set.
7. Tap now on the voicemail button and it will automatically call your usual voicemail service.

Real simple, I just exported 2000 contacts from my Mac address book as vcard, drag it to my PCMCIA slot card. Put the PCMCIA in my car, hit import in a matter of 2 seconds all my contacts transfer over on my address book in my 2008 MB C350.

If you need help on how to it drop me an email, I'll run you thru it, Good Luck.
