Really thinking about getting some lowering springs now after seeing the latest members post!

I love how it closed the wheel gap nicely with the eibach pro kit...

Are there any negatives (other than potential scraping) from installing either of these springs?

Performance and looks increases seems to good to be true with no side effects!

they are 2 different drops. Eibach only drops about 1.2". While Super Sport drops 1.7" and 1.8". Of course super sport will much nicer. it will only leave about 1/2 finger gap.

if you don't want to lower it that much, than you should compare Eibach to the H&R sports spring. it also drops 1.2".

thanks for your response.... but ok, other than the drop height, are there any differences performance-wise? like what about MPG increases or decreases?

Or what about 0-60 speed increases, or what about speed in the slalom and stuff like that?

I don't know about making the car faster or better MPG. But it makes it handle a lot better.

springs won't give you better mpg They're a suspension component, so it's more comfort and stability, than performance. Get the super sports, you won't regret it. And if you ever do, I'll swap you my sports :p

the eihbach website quotes better performance numbers for these certain sedans after putting on the spring kits... that is why i asked... if they improve numbers for a honda accord, then why not the w204???

check this link - better MPG and performance for a honda accord and ford f-150 with the eibach pro kit installed:

ok, I see what they're getting at, but some of that data will work for all springs regardless of brand....like since these are all lowering springs, car should have less aero drag due to lower profile...but that's true for all cars that are lowered...if anything, the H&R super sports should be even better since you're going lower than regular eibachs. Either way, all these are too minor to notice imo, especially with everyday normal driving.

right, probably too hard to notice...

so from your H & R sports, did you notice a harsher ride? a less uncomfortable ride? a more grounded, aggresive ride?

Does it mess up your gear box or drive train or anything since the engine was desgined for the car to be driven at a certain height?

does it void the manufacturer's warranty if you go really low, like with super sports?

I am pretty sure that such components have nothing to do with warranty...

on the negative side, i do hear that lowering springs, for some reason tend to make your tires wear out faster....I tend think that it has more to do with the driver and his new found 'handling' than the springs themselves.

Take the change in driving habits aside, the only way lowering springs will affect tire wear is when you don't check your alignment after a spring swap.

ride quality felt about the same. a little stiffer, but not by much.
