NEW IPODS, AND MB INTEGRATION

So the new 4th gen ipod nano's came out and i got one, though when i plugged it into my integration kit it was working although it wasnt being charged....any1 have any ideas?

Yes, I love Apple, but they have really upset me with this one.

3G iPhones and all the new iPods no longer charge on that pins that were for firewire. A lot of in-car chargers including Mercedes kit used those pins.

People are going to start making a little adapter that you plug into the bottom of the iPod, and then plug your car's cable into that. Still annoying solution though.

Overall, yes, it's frustrating, and I don't know why Apple did this.

I don't see how it saves Apple much money, unless removing the mechanism for charging in the devices saves that much. Seems silly though, when they know manufacturer integration kits don't work fully now, and that they cost a fortune. Also, it's small third parties going to make the adapters.

I really think it's messed up, and you wouldn't believe how much of an Apple fan I am, more so than Mercedes. Oh well.

If it's an iPod you just want to leave in the car, for the meantime, using an old one wouldn't be that bad, considering you're not using its display and whatnot with the new graphics and stuff while in glovebox.
