iPod Touch - 2nd Gen integration?
Hello all…. Just picked up a new W204 C350 (P2, MM, iPod kit, 18” AMG’s, etc……)
I’m an iPod newbie and use Microsoft Zune… but like a dork I ordered an 16gb iPod Touch off of apple website without checking compatibility with the cars iPod kit. The car kit manual does not directly list the touch as a device…. Just up to 4th generation iPods. My dealer even admits not have any customers with the Touch… Just the iPhone.
I’ve done a search on the forum with results only showing for the iPhone or G3 with charging problems.
*** So my questions are;
Does anyone have the iPod touch and does everything work with the factory iPod kit?
Any issues? Like doesn’t charge, play movies, etc…
Thanks in advance!
P.S.
for those that always want to see proof with pictures car is at the tint shop and will post proof pics within 24 hours….

Sorry I cant really help you with this but does your car have the ipod cable so you can connect the ipod and then control it from the steering wheel? See I bought my C350 with the ipod kit but the only thing it came with was the aux input in the glove box.. I cant control the ipod from it only listen to music. It is pretty annoying.
Should I go back to the dealership and demand to get the real kit or is the aux input the "ipod kit"?
Please help...!

Sir, if you have the ipod kit with the dock connector, yes it will plug into the iPod touch, no issue. Also, it will integrate with the car no problem, so you can find the songs on the steering wheel display.
However, it's very possible (most likely) it is like the 3G iPhone and some newer iPods that it will not charge it. There will be a little adapter available from different people later to help with that, for now, just charge the iPod up before it goes into the car I guess.

Veho…
Here is the plug that is in the iPod adapter kit…. If you have what looks like a headphone jack that’s the regular (stock) AUX input… to the best of my knowledge…
Sorry took pictures with my phone...
Mac911…
Thanks… guess I’ll just have to see if it charges…. Hopefully it charges I was planning on just leaving it in the glove box (car is always garaged)…. Or hope they make that adapter soon…. Geez the car has been out over a year already.
