C300 Sport Lease

Hi all,

I'm new to the boards and looking for any info on a lease offer that I've received on a C300 sport.

I received the following offer from a local dealer. I don't yet have the actual selling price, the money factor nor the residual value on the car, but these are the lease terms:

-2009 C300 Sport, Automatic, Ipod, MSRP around 35000
-36 month lease with 10K miles
-$650 total down (includes first payment, fees, taxes, etc..)
-$458 a month (includes taxes, which are quite high); roughly $420 before taxes.

I'm just trying to figure out if this is a poor, decent or great deal? I need to make a decision ASAP, so any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Did the dealer quote you the lease rate %?
I assume you put down 6500; if you only have to put down 650, then that would be an awesome deal!

On their website, I roughly worked out the base 34810 (black, black tex, auto and ipod) with 6500 down, 36 months and 10k per year = 402 plus taxes with the 90210 zip code.

Sounds a little high, but depends on the area and lease rate.

Maybe ask for some winter mats to be thrown in!

Good luck

I imagine they really mean $650 down, so the deal is pretty good if true.

However, you're sure you don't want any other options? Besides the iPod kit that is stock, which isn't bad, but none of the options interest you?

Also, 10,000 miles work for you fine?

Thanks for the responses.

Of course I would love the options, including the navigation. But even adding P1 to the deal will push things near the $500 range, which I would like to avoid.

Can one enjoy the C300 without the P1 or P2? Out of those items listed in the P1 package, I didn't see any that seemed necessary or that I couldn't do without.

Any comments on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

What's the residual going to be at the end, considering that a stripper will be hard to sell except at a knockdown price?

+1, I would imagine the residual on such a stripped down car to be pretty bad.

Maybe you should consider something used? You will enjoy a 2008 C with P2, MM and leather a lot more than a new one with nothing.

Well, I don't have MM and I regret it a bit, but not for Nav. I would like the sound system.

Let's see in P1, yeah it's not that exciting. Heated seats I kinda like, but rain sensing wipers, I get very little rain. Yeah guess P1 isn't that valuable. I use Sirius sometimes for news and stuff, but music quality isn't good anyway.

P2 - bi xeons are sorta nice, but $1500 more for that and the roller blind and stuff, I like it all, but yeah it's not that great.

Of course, bluetooth and a sunroof are standard, so that is pretty nice right there.

I guess you're right a stock car is still pretty sweet and you're getting the ipod kit.

You might always see though if you could get work them into the same deal, for a car that had an extra or two.

The one suggestion to look for a 2008 and get a similar deal for the same price is a good idea. The 2008 is pretty much identical, and you could maybe get a couple options for maybe the same price, considering they can take more off and give better rates.

To answer your original question again though, no it's not a bad deal you were offered, but you're doing the right thing to research it.

I think your hidden cost is likely to be in what they charge for additional milage.

I'm currently going 20,000 miles per year which is kind of high even for me. But even when I had less driving in my schedule, it was still 12,000 miles.

What are they charging for each extra mile?

MB Financial leases are typically 25 cents a mile.

2008 Steel Grey C300 Sport 6MT
My lease:

2008 C300 6-speed Steel Grey iPod Spoiler AMG wheels

39 months 15k miles/yr $501 down (first month payment)

Payments are $501 a month

I went to dealer and left with the keys with only $501 out of pocket which was my first months payment (no taxes, tags, or anything like that)

Purchased in May 2008

...and I don't miss P1 or P2 (although upgraded stereo would have been nice all the other options are not important to me and standard stereo does fit my needs)
