C63 Hood in C350?

I have to replace the hood (PLEASE DO NOT ASK WHY), one option is replace with C63 hood, I think can be fit without major problems, I saw many picture and the only different is that dimension between the MB emblem and the front of the hood is 1" more. I have the C63 bumper and the grille in my C350. If somebody can verify is the hood can be fit or not, let me know, the price of the C63 hood is the double of the C350. It is a good experiment, but a little expensive.

Thanks,
SuperDavid

this goes back to the age old question, why make it look like something its not?
in my opinion if the C63 hood is more expensive, dont bother as it not really necessary, unless your hiding a 6.3 V8 in there i wouldnt spend the extra money.

I understand your opinion a bit, but only if they badge the car like a C63, but if you want to change bumpers exhausts hood and stuff why not.

The C63 hood is MUCH nicer, as long as you dont put the C63 badge on your car it's ok

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the dimensions of the regular C's hood and the C63's were different.

"Fitting the 6.2-liter V8 under the hood of the C63 was no simple plug and play procedure. All the sheet metal from the windshield forward is model-specific, with flared fenders to accommodate the 1.4-inch wider front track and a more aggressive hood that is nearly 3-inches longer than the one found on the standard C-Class."

Did a quick measurement of the length of my hood (front to back and measured in the middle) at it's longest (again middle) I got 47 inches.

Yes, the C350 hood has 44" in center. That means the fenders are more longers? I measure the fender close to the hood and the measure is 36".

Contact Expression they have C63 style hood. I think I saw an ad that indicated it was their own product. I am not sure if the vents in the hood can be excluded.

That hood looks really nice. Though can't find a place that sells their products (for their W204 lineup). I'll send them an email see what they say.

I am REALLY tempted to ask why the OP needs to change his hood.

There was a member on this board who owns a Red C350 who converted his/her car to a C63
leaving only the hood stock.
therefore I believe it can work the other way around.

however, if you have a luxury grille for your current car, you will need to change it
to either sport or the C63 grille. otherwise the hood will not close.
this is do to the gap difference between the standard hood and the C63 hood in relevance to the bumper.

another way to go is to purchase the Expression Motorsport hood
http://www.expression.be/products/pr...204classic.htm
this hood fits perfectly on a standard C

The C63 hood long in middle is 47" with the Chrome upper grille the C350 is 44" w/o Chrome upper grille that means the different is 2 11/16", you can see in the picture the gap of 2" that the HOOD C350 has with the C63 bumper and grille. Can be fit the HOOD? I need only the internal dimension of the C63 hood to double check, Yes the only way can MAYBE fit is using a C63 bumper and grille (ALL ORIGINAL MB), As soon I get the internal dimensions I will take the decision to swap or not the hood.

AGAIN , PLEASE NOT ASK WHY I NEED TO CHANGE THE HOOD

Actual temp here 75F

looks great, but it is too expensive, the price for the original C63 hood is $1143 + Shipping. (total of $1314 2nd day delivery). Anyway I have to change the HOOD, the price of C350 hood is $525 with shipping Diferent less of $800 ONLY.
NEWS !!!
Some good guy from this forum sent to me all the C63 dimensions. I will verify (This afternoon) and compare the C350 and C63 hoods. REengineering. I will report the ASAP the results.

Honestly, I don't like the CF hood for the 204s. The way the hood actually sits on top of the fender makes it look strange, as opposed to the more typical hood sitting beside the fender. Add to that the disjointed look it adds connecting the hood/fender portion to the A pillar. CF hoods are good and all, but just doesn't flow to me for the 204.

But this is just my opinion.

I think that hood from Expression looks pretty slick if you could axe the vents.

I dug around on their site and I really like the front bumper on the Motorsport kit. I like the led signals beneath the headlights. It appears their US dealer only sells the rear spoiler and no other body kit parts...

Emailed the HK seller for the CF hood, said he would sell it to me for 1250 shipped. I was thinking of getting it and painting it. But do you think it fits on perfectly like OEM? (Like no gaps?)

Does the CF hood accept all of the OE hardware? A lot of CF hoods require hood pins because the latch can't be installed and they are not as structurally rigid as OE hoods.
