Hi, everyone, I am new here.
Could I ask you guys that how to take the grille from a C300?
I recently bought a Black Mesh Grille, and going to install it by myself tomorrow, but not quite sure how to remove the grille.
Hope somebody could tell me or even show me the picture will be better, thanks.

LOL! Well you could kick it in or use a crowbar, I suggest the crowbar method cuz you won't hurt your foot =P

But in all seriousness... open up the hood, remove the headlight covers.. remove the cross mounting thing to the grill. Then gently push bottom of the grill down and out. Then the grill should basically just pop out Hope that helps...

The best way to replace the front grille is remove the front bumper cover, I did many times, this way you can fit perfect the new grille outside of the car.

Ok. I tried to take off my grille. How do one remove the plastic piece behind the grille? I think that needs to be removed in order to remove the grille correct?

I saw the step by step instructions

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ing-grill.html

-turn 90 degrees on the center plastic piece thats right behind the grill ( I got this one)

-pull out little plastic tab (Use flathead screw driver), slide in between the small circle piece and the bigger bottom circle and twist, you can easily remove these. They are holding the intake chamber to the big plastic piece ( what the heck is this? I only have similar ones holding the plastic piece on top of the headlights but not the piece covering the raditor. Anyone have pieces of these plastic tabs? )

-when taking the big plastic cover behind the grill, take a look at plastic piece, and its held by L shaped plastic pieces which are holding onto the radiator structure. It's self explanatory, I suck at explaning.
(Can someone else explain with pictures because it looks like the L shape is underneath the plastic piece that I need to remove from the step above)

Thanks for any help... If anyone have a more in-depth step by step, please send me info

are you talking about that T bar thing in the center? There are 2 screws holding it to the car. They're a ***** to get to, but you can try loosening it with needle nose pliers, then use your hand to finish off the unscrewing.

Funny, I finally was able to swap out my grille and that is the piece that I want to get rid of but can not since it was bolted to the frame.

For anyone removing their grill, that little tab just needs to be turned, it doesn't need to be pulled out. Just turn it so that it's at 6 / 12 o'clock. Once you do that, then you have to unhook the wires that are attached to the panel and pop the panel off.

Hi Mirzar, thks for putting so much effort posting above but I'm stuck with the 1st step from your instruction:
*pull out little plastic tab (Use flathead screw driver), slide in between the small circle piece and the bigger bottom circle and twist, you can easily remove these. *
after removing plastic tab in centre, couldn't find small circle/bottom circle twist and slide to remove top cover! Appreciate if you could elaborate, thks in advance.

My earlier post states that you don't actually even need to pull that thing out, just turn it. Not sure I remember seing a ring, I just saw that little tab and I turned it.

Once you do, then you can start taking the wire and tube off of the cover panel, then from there, you need to pop that entire panel off. It's connected in four places.

So if the T-bar thing doesn't HAVE to be removed in order to get the grill off...can the grill be removed without removing the black plastic cover behind the grill. It seems the only reason to remove the black cover is to get to the T-bar

You do not have to remove the black plastic cover behind the grill. You do have to remove the black plastic covers on top of each of the front lenses.

There are no little small circles on the plastic piece behind the grill. I IM the person who wrote the DIY and his is a european version which I guess is different than the US version. You do not have to remove the T-Bar or the black plastic piece sitting on top of the radiator to remove your grille.
