interesting differences: Sport vs. Luxury
To put things into perspective, I have a 2008 300C 4matic Sport with the P2 package and loaded except for MMI and leather. The loaner is a 2008 300C 4matic luxury with just the P1 package.
The noticable features on the luxury model are: the power seat controls with memory for the driver's side is on the door (the passenger side is on the side of the seat), power adjustable steering wheel, fog light indicator on the guages, and a digital compass in the rear view mirror.
These features are relatively minor, but makes you think why they didn't offer these features across the model line (either as standard or part of a package). It would certainly be cheaper to do it that way.
As for driving the luxury model, it's still a fine driving machine. The ride is a little softer, but not really a big difference unless you are driving hard or driving over uneven pavement. The leather shift knob is nicer than the silver knob of the sport model, but I didn't care for the reddish-brown burled wood trim on the interior.
It's been a while since I've drove a car with a hood ornament and I must admit is it kind of neat for some reason, and helpful when parking your car as you can tell where the hood ends.

Are these "hybrid" cars South African built or from Germany?

I have an order placed right now with a production date of 3/25, and was curious of which mirrors I would be receiving.
They're the exact same car built the exact same way with the exact same parts except for some specifically different parts between lux and sport. The materials used are identical, no different other than differences like wood vs aluminum. The wood takes more work and costs more! The suspension on the lux is the same, it's just configured differently. The lux has a more.... luxury feel. And you think that feels like a hyundai?
Maybe what you're trying to say is that you don't like luxury suspension and prefer the stiffer sport suspension.

I already think the "sport" should have been a bit sportier, so the lux to me is pretty mundane.
