open the door that you want to be child locked. on the door itself, the inside pat where the locking mechanism is, there is a lever that you move.

I have an 08 C350 and can't find the child safety lock on the door anywhere. I know where it should be but there is nothing. Any help?

I believe early US W221 cars did not have child locks but those were added for later models (I did not check this). Perhaps US W204 cars don't have those for the same reason, what ever it was from MBUSA. Anyone double checked this from EPC?

Not too surprising since there isn't one on US models. There is a too-long thread on this subject from a few months back.

+1 to the above poster.

To make a long story short, the child locks are now essentially the driveaway locks. Through the cars information center (steering wheel buttons) you can set the locks to automatically lock when the speed of 9mph is reached. The rear doors can not be opened by using the door handle when this system is activated, they can however be opened if you pull up on the rear door lock itself. The good news is, its pretty hard to pull up on that pin when its locked, although for some reason kids always find things that appear to be hard for us quite easy lol.

No worries there, either. The pin will break off before the door is unlocked. My son has alreay broken two of them. He now knows to wait until I open my door.
