The *******s stole my tires!
Wanted to go to work this morning & found THIS:
I live in a closed of residence (gates) + car is in a closed off
garage under ground... they knew exactly what to look for.
I'm stupid as well as i thought the car came standart with wheel locks.
Clearly it did not...
May they burn in hell!

That really sucks. How about security cameras? If you can identify them, it would hard to keep from killing em.

I hope they did not damage the sideskirts placing those cement blocks. I feel your pain. I think you should get the special lock nut to lock the new tyres If you can get it aftermarket. Check with dealer.

the wheel are expensive in Europe. If this guy had standard wheels 17". they would atleast sell for 1200 Euros + and its a lot of money.

thanks for all the replies guys!
no cameras in the garage... also, the door has been broken for 4 months now,
so it's always open. they still had to get through the main gate though...
insurance pays for the tires, though i might have to lie and say that i DID have tire locks...
they also arranged for the tow company, who came this morning.
they put 4 tires on it & placed in on the truck.
It's at the dealer now & the expert is coming monday to look at it.
Some small damage underneath the car, but nothing major i think.
just the plastic, not the paint it seems..
leasing Co. arranged a replacement car for me,
so i'm now driving a "fantastic" opel corsa... well at least it has tires!
Reported it to the police, but seems small chance that they will find out who did it.
They say that these people often follow you to see where you live...
I honestly thought i had the tire locks & even read about it in the manual (?)
Maybe it was an option...
For the next 5 years or so, i think i'll sleep very lightly...
I would now like to type a lot of "big" words in order to express my feeelings for these thieves,
but the only thing you will see is those little " * " :-)
But you can guess i presume...

I would ask your residence management company to pay for the repair/replacement or at least cover your deductable. It seems they should have repaired the door within four months.

Wow!
Is there a vehicle motion-activated sensor for the alarm system or does it only turn on if someone opens the door? I haven't bounced my car yet while the alarm is on to know...

damn that sucks! This is the first case of this happening on our cars that's been reported on the forums. Hope insurance takes care of everything and gets you back up and running soon. Everyone should definitely have wheel locks. Very simple and relatively cheap safeguard.

Bad. I think the insurers going to be asking questions about speedo and then do a quick calc to discount wear meaning your going to have to make up the difference.
more enticing as the the wider wheels on the avantgard. i
worst thing is if the tyres were worn they could wait for you to get it all fixed up and then come back for the brand new set of wheels and rubber which they KNOW your going to get.
what they do in Aus is put the tyre lever on the locknut and jump on it breaking the stub and getting rid of the lock. but we might have more determined crooks.
before you re-enter that garage I would be putting some U beaut car alarm on with motion sensor plus i would also be getting the locknuts as well. I figure make those mongrils go that little further.
those besser blocks the car is sitting on look awful similar to that which your garage is made out of. meaning they may have only come armed with the two jacks. your security sucks. there have either been 1 crook making four trips, two crooks making two trips or four crooks making one trip into and off the premises carrying the not so light wheel/tyre. alternatively, they have vehicle access to your garage via the garage door meaning they have the remote or key or whatever it is.
if you replace the wheels, dont get the alarm and the locknuts and put that car back in the garage you will not get any sleep at night. so its worth the extra bucks.
in relation to the locknuts if they were not at the scene, and not collected by the towey, then you just cant explain how the crooks them off. the insurer just cant say whether they were there or not. some of the nuts are depicted in the pictures but not all, hope they werent all collected by the towey at the scene.
Finally, i have just ordered a obsidium black, c class estate 220cdi but with the split interior sahara beige / black interior. get it at the end of april - i hope and yes i will be putting the locknuts on it now i've seen this.
cheers
