Let's start over.

Having installed Euro taillights in my C300, I am offering for sale the OE taillights with LED turn lights. Installation is plug-and-play without effect on the lamp out warning system.

Dealer price for each light assembly is $308.00 (plus tax) which is approaching $700 for a pair.

My price for the two lights, including Fedex ground shipping and insurance is going to be $315.00. Again, that's for both.

Because of the increasing instances of Paypal fraud by buyers, I will require advance payment in the form of a US Post Office money order.

The lamps are properly boxed up, ready to ship, and when payment is received they will go to Fedex that day.

do you have any pictures? I think Paypal will be much safer than money orders.

Pictures of what? My ad clearly states the lights are boxed up ready to ship.

And why do you think paypal is safer? For who?

I agree with Spec_Davis. I'm just curious is the turn signals red or yellow LED's? (I have the red's and their gorgeous) Also paypal is much much safer as they are very good to handle with fraud and dealing with issue's..etc I've never had a problem with them.

They are red. All North American market cars have red.

Here's one Paypal scam. Seller advertises something. A price is agreed upon. Buyer sends funds to seller's paypal account. Seller ships item to buyer and when he receives it, he complains to paypal that the item is broken, defective, not as advertised etc. Paypal yanks the money back and refunds it to "buyer."
Now he has his money back and the merchandise. Seller complains to paypal who blows him off. Seller has no recourse.

This is a real life story.

Using your logic, you should only sell to someone, cash in hand, in the Seattle area, who can inspect the merchandise prior to pickup. Then you'd have both parties sign a "bill of final sale." That transaction would be safe.

Are there any other "safe" transactions?

Paypal is safer for buys than sellers for the very reason OP mentioned. Same goes for credit cards, safer for buys than sellers since buyers can request charge backs from their issuer.

There is a higher risk of issues for sellers accepting paypal when the sale isn't occurring via ebay or some other online retailer. When it's just two people transferring money back and forth is when it's gets iffy.

IMO, people should post in the classifieds but then are aloud to post a link to it in this forum. (Keep in mind just a link, not a whole other post)

p.s. I think PayPal is the best way to go for buyers but as for money orders, it's not as safe on the buyers' end. Your best bet would be to post on ebay AND use paypal so you have the support.

I am still interested in the LED lights... sorry I am not sure if you are getting my messsages or not. Please reply to me at mat2hu@yahoo.com so we can find a way to make it work. I live in SoCal and I am still fairly new to the whole forum thing. I will do the payments however way works out for you best.
