Is there a way to turn down the volume of the ringtone from an incoming call? The ringing from my phone via BT makes my ears bleed!

Get someone to call you in the car. While the phone is ringing, turn the volume down before answering it. It should remember the level you turned it down to next time.

I had to swap my COMAND unit since my CD player broke, I have the PIN from the donor unit and thought I'd enter it somewhere in this Engineering Menu, but there is nothing there? Am I missing it somewhere? Everything works fine but just no sound.

Please help, this Mercedes is starting to drive me crazy. PUN intended.

I've not seen anything that resembles a pin entry in there but some of that stuff is obscure.

If I recall you just aren't getting sound but everything else seems to work? Do you have Navi, Video or Sirius?

My initial thoughts might be that it's not properly coded or wired to the amp that is in the trunk. Have you tried to run any of the diagnostics? Is there a fuse for the amp? That might be worth checking too.

Engineer mode mistake

HELP please

I have a 2008 c220 with ntg 4.5. I have activate DAB in error in the secret menu (hang key, hash and button 1) i now
cannot access the secret menu and when the radio function is selected it just says device unavailable and 're boots a couple of times. I have managed to access the normal system menu and reset it but still no radio. Nav, DVD and memory cards all work.
I've removed fuses 26 and 28 . I've disconnected the battery completely for an hour. Clocks have rsset but still no access to engineer mode
Any ideas how I can reset the config ?
I have now managed to access the engineer mode as i'd changed the mode to Japan. I'm in the UK and only have the options of ECE, japan or US. I have changed to ECE and have now got my radio back. However every time I open the door the system now restarts ? Is there a list of the engineering operations explaining what they do ?

thanks in advance
Craig

Note to self .....DO NOT MESS WITH ANY SETTINGS UNLESS YOU HAVE ADDED HARDWARE. Guys and Girls I have finally managed to restore my radio functions and get my speaking lady back after messing with the hidden menus for hours. My advise is don't mess with it as it's pointless unless you have added HARDWARE.. I'm know a expert in these menus lol

How can I view the Comand Firmware version via the secret menu? And does anyone know what the latest firmware is for a NTG4? Thanks!
