Love my new rear brake pads
Got the replacement rear brake pads on my 2008 c300 sport last week and there is hardly any brake dust. While I haven't driven a lot since, there is a significant improvement from the old pads.
Just got the car 3 weeks ago and noticed the excessive dust right away. It was a dealer service loaner with 9k miles and only 11 months old. Thanks to some older posts about the service bulletin concerning this issue I asked and the dealer happily replaced the pads. Very noticeable difference!
Thanks for the info and hope I can be helpful to someone else in the future.

PS: I am really enjoying the car and was able to sell my 2000 528i in a week for a lot more than trade-in value.

Geeezzz thats great news !!! I really gotta swap my pads for this "new and improved" ones but the thing that suucks is that im over the mileage and time limit so i was thinking of simply getting the new pads from the parts department and have one of my friends swap them out theres no way im changing brake pads myself
PS does anyone know the part number of these new pads by chance ?? TIA

Apparently applies to 2008's produced up to 06/08 within 12k miles and 12 months.
I pulled the following from an old thread:
DTB was out since Nov, 08. But only apply up to 06/08 production date
SUBJECT:
Model 204.054/056/081, Up to 06/2008 Series Production
Brake Squeal and/or Excessive Brake Dust From Rear Axle
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of brake squeal and or excessive brake dust from the rear axle, replace the rear brake pads with revised parts. Refer to WIS document AR42.10-P-0250CW.
Only first 12 months or 12000 miles will be covered.

Brake pads are not really that hard to do. Come on out to the midwest and I can give you a hand
