Pulled over for Tail Light on one side being to bright?
I have been searching and searching for a thread I know I read about a guy being pulled over for a break light that the police officer said was out, but in reality it was in the owners manual that the light was suppose to function like that.. I am asking this because it just happened to me, and I got a ticket and want to fight it.
I know it is some where in this thread, I went through all the SL thread as I have a SL, but a friend reminded me it was def in the C w204 thread. Just having trouble locating it, if anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
Shaun

Yup.... Rear fog light was on. When you turn on your lights and pull the switch out for front fog lights. You will notice a second green light. If youget a yellow light on, ( beside the light switch ) you have pulled too much and turn on the rear fog light. Just push it back in one click.

fight the ticket.
rear fog lights, where just one tail is illuminated, are legal in the US. If they weren't legal, the car could not pass US DOT regulations and be imported into this country. This is just a BS ticket, assuming the road/weather conditions warranted use of it.

With all due respect to our police officers it's amazing how they are not familiar with this rear fog light
?? Before having my C i thought that other "german" cars had a blown taillight as well but now am familiar with it and sucks to see how one would get a ticket for something that is "normal" ?? Guess i better be careful not to use them or chance a tocket as well
???

IMO it takes A LOT to warrant the use of the rear fog lamp - blinding otherwise
Fight the ticket sounds like you were singled out from the crowd for no reason!!

Hopefully it was just a warning ticket! Otherwise, fight like heck for that one! I'll see ya on Judge Judy!

you must have no crime where you live!
Fight the ticket. I would be really embarassed to be the cop that gave such a petty and most questionable ticket. They should be doing their jobs in enforcing real and much serious laws.

if you got the ticket in LA, it's just a minor mechanical violation citation and prolly better to just "fix" your problem and pay the ~$20 court fee.
