REAR BRAKE DUST NO MORE!

I have A 2009 c350 and I have quite a bit rear brake dust on my wheels also. Looks like they did not improve the 2009's...
On my 2nd set (summer OE 17" wheels) I cut polished them and applied NuFinish - no more dust - has nothing to stick to!
The finish quality of the OE clear coated wheels has lots of orange peel and even dry areas - no wonder the dust sticks like mud.
I asked my dealer about the TSB. They'd never heard of it and said they don't have such a system (TSBs, etc.) There was a lot of discussion amongst the sales and service staff and they all seemed quite perplexed, as if they'd never heard of the issue. They did say, however, that they will be happy to replace them as part of the standard 3-year comprehensive service plan. (I don't remember purchasing any extra service plan and believe that this is standard procedure in Japan.) The service manager asked me to get the new parts numbers, so thanks to the person who posted those. I'll try to get it done soon...

When I called my dealer first time, I gave them TSB number and I told them my car was 1 year 4 month old but I only had 7.5k miles on it. The SA denied free replacement due to time overage and asked me $250 for the job. she said that they would like to do that for good faith something.. but MB would not recognize the work and the dealer had to eat up the cost. So I called MB USA and they hooked me up with one of their case manager. He listen my argument, contacted my dealer for details (their side of story), and called me back saying that TSB is not a recall, it is just instruction for service man to follow to resolve the issue they encounter. and there is no warranty coverage(12month or 12kmile) attached to this particular TSB. Dealer has no record about the excessive rear brake dust problem complaining from me in the past (Of course. I am not a complaining person). However, if I felt that the excessive rear brake dust was abnormal and if the dealer would acknowledge it then it should be covered by normal warranty. (4yrs/50kmile) and he said he would support me.
Right after I hung up with MB USA case manager, I went to dealer again and talked to different Service manager. After he heard my case, talked to his boss, and looked up their computer for TSB, then he agreed to replace the rear brake pad for free under good faith something.. ( I forgot) He also emphasized that "ONLY ONE TIME".
What I am saying is that according to the MB USA personal said, the TSB has no warranty info associate with. Therefore, you might still have the chance with your car to get the rear pad replaced.

I ask the dealer about my rear brake dust on my 2009 and I also told them that there's a service bulleton on this issue and they said that it was for 2008 down and that my car should already have the new pads and I said no way because I still have a lot of dust and there responce was that they could not do anything because the bulleton was not for my car......
Of course, we do have the same squeal / dust problem.I'm gonna take the part numbers in to them today and see if we can figure it out.

I did call MBUSA to complain and ask if there was a bulleton on my 2009 for rear barke dust but the person I spoke too said no but that they would note my complaint. all of us with 2009 need to call MBUSA and complain in order to get a service bulleton for our year,,,,
Later that day they called me up and told me I would be getting new rear pads. My service adviser had to call MBUSA to have the repair authorized since my car was over a year old and I now have 14K miles on it but he said they ok'd it without an argument. He just mentioned to them that there was still plenty of life remaining on the pads and we weren't replacing them because they were worn.
I'm pumped. Hopefully no more excessive brake dust and new pads to boot!
Good luck to any of you that are over the 1yr/12k mile limit.
Thanks everyone for sharing this information.
Are C300 vs C350 pads different?

I've had my car for exactly one year yesterday (happy birthday to my car!) and had it serviced last thursday.
I printed out the numbers from the forum and handed it over to my service advisor. My car is <7,000 miles and 1 year, he said sometimes the dealership doesn't approve these because forums are usually loaded with BS #s, but got a call back from him later that day that it would be done. suuuuper.
So glad I came across this post. Tired of the brake dust and cleaning it up down there. you're all right, its oily-gunky DUST... not just dust.
Satisfied!
