I know I was a once but you guys really need to use the search function and stop asking the same questions over and over again! Please don't ask how to change the interior light, the license plate light, or the side corner marker. Just search already Ask a question if you get stuck.

someone should create a detailed "official" guide that the mods can sticky for all these common questions.

Not to sound like a dick, but... the best way to learn how to DIY is to Do It Yourself. Try without the additional help... you don't really need any more than what's on the forum.
And before anyone chimes in with a counter-flame, consider that I did my own Backup Camera install without instructions. I'm not much of a DIYer to start off with either.

Yeahh true nothing wrong with being a little cautious id rather go do something with guidelines and have a better chance of not messing something up and having to pay mercedes a crap load of money to fix. But yeah i understand what you mean by actually doing it urself but yah id prefer to be more cautious. Thanks though ;D

I really hope you guys are not suggesting he experiments on his $40k car!!
I too have done lots of things myself, including a MM retrofit from an Euro COMAND unit, GPS antenna, ECU removal and the backup camera. And let me tell you, these are close to impossible without guidance.
I tried changing my fog light and got stuck cause I couldn't reach the screws at the back of the light after removing the grill; after about 30 mins of getting no where, I decided to stop. Ron posted a brief description of what was needed to do on another thread (thanks again Ron), but I'm still confused. I could go with Rick Hunter's advise and just keep pushing it, but chances are that I miss a screw or a plastic snap and brake something.
I agree with the OP that there is no clear guide to fully swap a fog light, so I will join him and ask if someone is willing to help us out. And if you think we are asking for too much, then don't even bother answerting cause clearly the question wasn't directed to you.

Don't worry you'll find it...if you need help look in the owners manual and you'll figure it out. I'm not much of a DIY like rick as well so it ended up taking me 30 min just to figure out the eyelids

Heres a DIY on Eyelids. I looked around for this on search and saved it for when i need it. I do random searching often for this stuff.... good luck, and if u do this you should post your own DIY making it more thorough...

hey guys.. after installing hids in the fogs, do u leave them on at all times to prevent short life on the kit? coz my c300 has the corner illumination feature, and i think the hids would die faster than usual if they turn on and off that often.
I'm still deciding whether to get them or not..

It's pretty simple and straight forward... Start with the passenger side eyelids/ lowbeam since you'll have more space to fit your hand... Twist the eyelids/ lowbeam cap counterclockwise to gain access in the main assembly... For the eyelids, twist and pry out the bulb assembly, it's ok to use a little bit of force, a long nose pliers will make the job easier... Once you have access on the bulb you can now switch it out with LEDs, make sure you test it first before putting it back since LEDs have to be put in a certain way, If it didn't light up just put it the other way... For the lowbeam, twist the cap to gain access in the main assembly, rotate it counterclockwise to remove the bulb assembly and switch out the bulbs
The same steps applies for the driver side but you have a tighter space to manipulate your hand around... manipulating your hand in tight spaces is an art where we can all improve if practiced regularly
For the fogs... you will see 3 torx screws on the mesh grill surrounding the fog light assembly... remove all three and pull out the mesh grill... you'll have a lot of room to work around it, twist the bulb assembly and pull it out, switch out the bulbs and put everything back in place
I know pictures or diagrams is a big help but as long as you take your time and analyze each step you'll do just fine
