Is it possible to upgrade from classic to elegance version

To all W204 experts;
To make a price difference between the C class versions, our local MB dealer in Egypt has decided to import only the C180K classic version.
The question is: what are the parts needed to get the 12 sterring wheel function keys/ 4.5 in display instrument cluster full functional ( apart from changing the Airbag, and retrofitting the new display).
Appreciate if anybody can help.
Thanks

If it is only the display and the steering wheel, then it should not be more than the steering wheel and the instrument cluster (the whole cluster). Are you not interested about the rest of the Elegance features?

The rest of Elegance is just inside and outside trim bits, different alloys and an interior lighting package (although I heard that's also standard on the Classic now?).

It's the most important feature that let you install the ipod interface and access the phone. But I wonder if no other interface/different cables are needed.
By the way I was not able to get an answer from the dealer (we have not done that before!)
Awaiting replies.

Why don't you get them to order you an Elegance. I don't see why they would refuse if you are prepared to wait. A full upgrade should be possible but it will cost you.

I know that roughly, my point was anyway that the OP was talking about an "upgrade" to Elegance which is why I asked if he wants an upgrade to Elegance or just the cluster and the steering wheel.

It is pretty much a personal opinion if the rest make a difference, this is why I asked if the rest of the Elegance option are important for the OP. For some owners the outside is most important when the outside of the car is what others see. For myself the inside is the most important because that is what I see mostly.

That sounds like the way to go but it might be different in Egypt from that of Europe and South Africa, you know you cannot order a W204 CDI from MBUSA, even if you are willing to pay. Perhaps Egypt has their own odd policy.

It is a matter of either take the classic version now or wait from 3-5 months.
Opinions are welcomed

I would wait & get what you want. Do you really want to start pulling a new car apart to make it what you want - It will cost you more & you might have warrantee issues depending on local policy. They might be able to get you what you want quicker than you think with new car sales in the doldrums.

Wait and get what you want retrofits rarely work 100% and usually end up costing more.

In this case I would certainly wait, like others seem to say. 3-5 months is quite normal, I've waited for more than 8 months for some cars.
