Software update for ECU/TCU/Head Unit/Instrument Cluster??

Has anyone here w/ 08 w204 take your car to service for software update??
If you did, what's the update about??
I have been reading up the supposed update for the lag fix but still unsure if it's for ECU or TCU..
Also wondering if there are any additional updates out there..
09 w204 has a bar display current fuel consumption level on the distance to empty display..dunno if 08 model can have this update..

have you tried asking your local dealer if they can give you the software update that provides some of the 2009 features? I have heard of at least one person on the forum getting an IC replaced and they replaced it with the 2009 IC, and I am thinking that came with the 2009 features in the IC

The standard update is covered by the warranty. The Nav update is not and the discs cost $150.

I have done both.

Gee I paid $204 for the latest updates for NAV - $150 seems very good.

Local dealer retail for the two discs was $150 so the $204 figure is odd since no one is going to load the discs for $54. It takes well over an hour and ignition has to be on.

Wow, that is a good price, I actually bought the disks for $204, and loaded them myself (~2hours). The version I bought was the latest Navteq version available last month from my source

Is this version available from your local dealer for $150?

Did the standard update include the features justthinking is talking about? If so, i will ask to get that update when I take my car in the next time.

You appear to be in the UK so price comparisons are pointless.

Off topic but a C300 would be a C280 in the UK and a 4-Matic not available at all (at least last time I checked).

DB good point, as C300 is clearly USA in the StarTekInfo information.
