EDIT: I just found this, valid until 9/30/2011:

That 7-speed trans service at $419 still seems expensive though. Has anyone been able to get it done for less at an MB service dept?

I found this one showing basic oil change for $119. The only other things Service A really does is replace the "dust filter" (I assume air filter?), top off fluids, and reset the service indicator... maybe they can do the reset for you anyway...

Jiffy Lube is not going to have proper 229.5 oil in stock, so you'd have to BYOB and BYOF probably, too. Then you'll have to watch their hands to make sure they actually used the materials you supplied and that they did the job right. Watch them struggle trying to get the underbelly off and lose half of your fasteners plus potentially strip the top of your oil filter housing. I've seen way to many horror stories to ever take a nice car to Jiffy Lube. The only car I'd ever take there would be a company car.

It seems that maybe the filter adds the 100$ to the B service?
My local dealer has a 299$ special on the B but says I can choose to not do the filter and it would be less.
Also wondering if the 7-speed tranny service needs to be done after 2+ years and 16K miles

??
