Here's a couple of specials from Silver Star Motors in LIC, Queens, NY - coupons print on their website and there are other coupons too.[QUOTE=AF330i;3911668]Great site to check for NY, if anyone knows of any coupons for a Long Island NY Dealership, I would really appreciate it !!Silver Star seems to be the lowest in price in the NYC area, I'm going to stop by there this week, as for it's just 5 mins from my house & ask if they will honor these great coupon deals that I see up here.

I'm stopping by for them to add the front bracket for the front license plate, NYS by law front & rear plates needed, car is from TX which only needed rear plate. I will ask & get back to anyone as far as what they will honor.

I love you Cali guys & girls with these absolutely great coupon prices, nothing close as far as internet search of local dealerships in the NYC area. As stated above Silver Star is the best price I see so far, I'm just lucky it's by my apt. But for $99 I'm about to take a drive down to Cali, I'm going back to Cali, to Cali, to Cali...lol

My Service 'A' isn't due till May but it is good to be prepared.
Try printing the Silver Star Motors Coupon and see if the Long Island MB Dealer would honor it. I know Sovereign in Brooklyn honors other local MB Dealer coupons.

I guess I still don't get it. What's to stop us from just taking it to a full service station and getting the oil changed and fluid levels checked for $30 + price of oil????

Nothing, some owners like to keep the service at the dealership.

As long as your local mech uses the spec of oil MB wants and the OEM filter, there should be no issues.

From my experience, a local indy using the oem stuff only saves like 20 bucks

thanks

my dealership wants to charge $499 for service B and the local mechanic is charging $30 for oil change and fluid level checks. I think I can save a bit more than $20

I thought we were talking oil changes.

Can't you just open your wallet and take your beating quietly?

Isn't service b pretty much an oil change with a fluid level check as well as a visual check of the belts and hoses? The price is so ridiculously inflated that both dealerships I called didn't even ask me what kind of car I drive, they just said "oh service B? that's $500." And because there are no coupons for the Dallas area I'm trying to find an affordable alternative.

ha, hell no. i refuse to conform!

Service B at a dealership is more than opening your wallet, you have to bend over and grab your ankles too...

Print the Service B checklist and take it to a good MB independent. Service B go on special here in SoCal at 200-250USD

I found a great shop in dallas that only works on Benz, BMW, and Porsche. They pulled up the Service B list and took care of everything for less than $160! I think I talked to 6 indy shops and 2 dealerships in total and their prices ranged from $230 - $816... Shop around and save some cash! It also helps lower the price when you have the airfilters (K&N) and new oil filter before you take it in.

mind sharing the name of the shop? im coming up on service B now as well. also, which dealership quoted $499? that's not TOO bad, i may still go that route. btw, i get email coupons from ewing in plano all the time for 10-15% off any service.

They did a great job, and they use the Synthetic Mobile 1. A few shops I called use Valvoline (Eurosport in Plano)... That price included everything on Service B including brake fluid flush. Get your oil filter from AutoZone beforehand and take it with you, I picked up a K&N oil filter (part# HP-7004, $25.00), but there are much cheaper options available.

The dealership that quoted me $499 was Park Place Mercedes (by Love Field Airport). They also added that 499 was the base price.... Ewing Quoted me $450 I think. A place in Frisco said $819, hahaha....

GL 450
Brake fluid Flush

Good to know that Fletcher Jones in Fremont accepts Fresno coupons.
Smythe in San Jose refuses.

I brought my 2008 GL450 in for service A. It has less than 13,000 miles because I bought it in jan 2009.

The service advisor "recommends" tire balancing and rotation $110.00, Brake fluid flush $110, wheel alignment check $170, bringing the total bill to $630 (including $240 for Service A)

I declined everything except Service A, but he insists that the brake fluid flush is a "requirement" every 2 years , and my car "requires" it becasue the brake fluid has been sitting there in my car for 2 years, even though i have been driving the car for only 1 year.

Any thoughts and comments please?

I don't have a coupon to help all of us Long Islanders out. But I called around for my Service A last week.
Service A:
Huntington - Starts at $275 (probably will charge more)
Massapequa - $275 flat
Rallye - $200 special for 2 weeks.

Service B should be around 35,000 miles I think. I am at over 31K miles and my service reminder says B service in 4,500 miles. Scroll through the guage with your steering wheel control: trip, audio, phone, service, etc. The computer keeps track of when you need the next service and which one you'll need.
