front plate fix-it in LA
today I got a ticket for no front plate on Wilshire boulevard...its a correctable fix-it ticket. Basically, for those who have recently received the same ticket...whats the procedure? do I just have the ticket signed off and sent in or do I have to put the front plate on and have in inspected?
thanks for any info.

take it to an inspection station to get it signed off (as proof that you corrected the issue).
since you're in LA, you can go to the inspection station on Hill St (near Washinton Blvd). it's a $10 fee.
then, you can either mail the ticket in with the proof or take it to the court. either way, you'll have to pay a $15 court "filing fee"

I think they've raised the price for filing fee to 25 or 30. And I usually go to my local CHP station for sign-offs, they usually don't charge, at least the CHP off 5N by 6flags or the CHP station on de soto didn't.

I'll probably just have the dealer install the bracket and call it a day...I really hate front plates, but oh well.
So if I got the ticket in another county, can I just mail the signed off ticket to the court? or do I have to take a picture for proof or something?

get it inspected/signed off first. then send the ticket along with the proof.
ensure that you keep copies of everything. the courts are notorious for "misplacing" documents.

Front Plate Mount
Instead of having the dealer add the front mount which will give you too nice little holes in the front, add this instead. I use it when I go to LA and take it off when I'm back at home. Check out the link.

Yo I'm in Clovis I got a front bracket that ties into the tow screw up front. Pm me for my info if you wanna see it in person or something. Maybe a river park mini-meet.

Getting my plates from the dealer today and am still on the fence about the front plate. It obviously looks much better w\o the front plate but don't really want to risk being pulled over for it.
Anyone have any issues in San Diego with no front plate? I never drive up to LA anymore...
Maybe I'll get that "no holes" front plate kit and I'll just put it on when I go out at night to have dinner and a couple of beers.

This is a cleaner and more convenient solution for your front plate.
It's a retractable license plate frame:

I don't think it would work well for those who have a front lip or have lowered their cars substantially.

So you can confirm it is only a $10 ticket...I had heard rumors it went up?
