NEW MiRRORS INSTALLED
BTW, I see that you have a white car with a black interior....but as long as ur happy.
My car came with those mirrors but not with that function. Do you know if it is code update or do we require additional motors to achieve the power fold.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
drive the car with mirrors folded and then drive the car with it extended. the difference in noise is very clear unless you can't hear very well. you don't even have to go very fast before the wind noise caused by the mirror to be noticeable.

and i have a MY09.
clearly tho you don't care... unless the posts are praising your mirrors.
like for me, i didn't notice the noise at first. but after all the frills and happiness wore off, and having driven the car for over a week, it's starting to really be noticeable to me.
it could also be that you have your AC on auto/blast which drowns out some of the noise. try driving the car with AC/radio off and i'm sure you'll hear it..

(the white colour and black lighting area compliment each other) I have pic....here it is:
see?

once again the area that lights up looks terribly made... the pitch fork shape does nothing for the design of the car... no flow at all ( the longer lower portion...why?... the joined area around the curve)... then there are the segments in the lighted area which imo are unnecessary and look way too plasticy and the light seems to be brighter in some areas then others not consistent at all... and finally where the housing and the transparent area meet looks unfinished... seems like this was a concept design that should never have seen the light of day...

and you are judging this from a picture without seeing it in person?
talking about designs. as if the old mirror's giant chrome piece does anything to help the car look better. it looks so good that most people decide to cover it up with the Brabus style CF mirror cover, right?
also keep in mind that the "new" mirror's turn signal style is used for almost all the model line up. it's sleeker and less bulky than what we have right now.
in person it may look better or worse... of course.
yea the original ones are a bit big... but other than that they are well designed...
the upper section like you said can easily be tinted... or covered (carbon fiber for example)... being able to customize it only integrates it more with the rest of the car... especially since others areas of the car are probably done in carbon fiber as well... and once it's covered... it leaves a clean line for the indicator... giving that sleek effect.
from the looks of tha new design... very very sadly... you wont be able to customize at all...
and even untouched the OG mirrors itself mimics the eyelids and headlights... the shape even flows well with the car as it tapers towards the end of the housing.
i mean all you can say for the new design is that its "sleek" meaning nothing more than it's relatively smaller...

When ask for changing with new ones, the answer was "not recommended" because not fit well, the noise will be similar and fuel consumption. (New mirrors also made to correct this point too).
Also there is other base to screw the new mirrors on the body of the car, in new C versions.
Unfortunately for old owners new mirror design will be standard as fashion too for many Mercedes models from now to the future.Look for example new E class too.

when something has a "good" design, all you need is to clean it up. i.e. the W203 mirrors. the only change was needed was redesigning the signal from foggy to clear.
edit: BMW does it much better in this department. The facelifted E90 has the new mirror being bigger, but it still has an aerodynamic shape that does not create a lot of wind noise.
