NEW MiRRORS INSTALLED
First, for those who are "Not Feeling" the new style mirrors, don't look at the photos. I don't want to hear about fainting spells.

My new mirrors arrived from MBenzNL this week and so I scheduled the car in to the dealer for installation while they were doing a few warranty fixes.
I think they look considerably better than the original elephant ear models. I was surprised that both mirrors are convex which will take some getting used to. Unlike the originals, the new ones have only one LED at the outer end which makes the turn light function difficult to see during daylight but plenty bright at night.
They come color coded to the car so don't require painting and they are plug and play. Since they are the Euro versions, they retain power folding plus heat and self dimming so no 2008 function is lost.
They were expensive and the seller does not use Paypal which will stop some people right there. This is my second purchase from this source and everything went well.

for some reason, i assumed the OP had an 09, and was going to activate the folding option since he mentioned that in his post. but since he has an 08, i guess its no problem for him...

My car came with those mirrors but not with that function. Do you know if it is code update or do we require additional motors to achieve the power fold.

Are you people blind! - RLE states "they retain power folding plus heat and self dimming so no 2008 function is lost."
I think they look great - Much better than the old "Noddy" car version and I'm sure you can hear the difference in wind noise.
Steve at MBenzNL is 100% reliable and does trips to the US for more complex Installs. He is very well known to the 203 fraternity.

Its easy enough to find the parts needed for a folding mirror, but you will need additional cable harnesses and variant codings, it requires some hefty research before doing this.
Actually see no reason for folding mirrors. I had the feature on my two former cars and never used them.

I think they look awkward...too much of a gap between the mirror itself n the window/door.
Do people really complain about the wind noise because of the mirrors??? Have you guys ever seen the mirrors on the Murcielago??
Not worth the money IMHO...but as long as ur happy
