Go to your favorite autoparts place, buy some wheel cleaner, and wash it off.

Off what?

Well, doesn't really matter:

If you are right hand dominant, use that hand to grasp a soft cleaning brush or cleaning cloth, dip it into a previously prepared bucket of water with a smidge of wheel cleaner, hunker down (you'll have to look for the word "hunker" in your factory-approved The Big Book of Wheel Cleaning, also known as Kampf Mit Rollen Schpritzen) and begin to apply pressure with the brush or cloth to areas affected by brake dust, scrubbing first in circles, then in a classic MB cross hatch pattern, all the while whistling one of 3 factory-approved melodies. Rinse the dirtied brush or cloth in the bucket, and return to scrubbing until all grime is loosened. Then rinse the areas with clear, running water.

DON'T DRINK THE BUCKET WATER IF YOU GET THIRSTY WITH ALL THIS UNACCUSTOMED ACTIVITY! It's not factory-approved at this point.

If you are talking about BRAKE dust - fit ceramic pads.

Must be DB AG approved gas - I've been trying to wean my car off gasoline for 5 years. Everytime I think I'm about to achieve it the darn thing stops!

Well, ok, we had a little fun at your expense.

You are faced with several options. Clean your wheels yourself, in which case you can visit your local car-parts-type store and look at wheel cleaners, brushes, etc. You can go online to places like Griot's Garage, and you'll see some great tools for wheel cleaning. You can go to your local touchless car wash place and have them detail the wheels for you. And when you've reached the lifespan of the brakes, then do as Mr Ruck suggests, and have the dealer install low dust brake pads.

You'll still have to do, or have done, some wheel cleaning, but it won't be quite as messy.

My suggestion is to do it yourself. There are more ways of "owning" a car than folks first expect, and this is one time honored way of doing that.

I don't think anyone here would suggest that this is a dealer issue, although that's not to say that some dealers wouldn't do it, in the spirit of good customer relations, something MB is generally known for.

Your choice.

+1 - Once you have your wheels clean give them a good waxing/polymer sealing. You are still going to have to clean them but dust won't stick as easily & will wash off more easily. Merc OE pads work well but damn they make a mess. We all hate them!!!

P21S Wheel Gel. If you're willing to live with dirty insides (which you can really only get to by jacking up the car and removing each wheel), you can clean your wheels with a minimum of effort with this stuff.

Takes about 10 min. of labor with 20 min. of wait time while it soaks. It's really very simply.

While it soaks, I suggest you polish the chrome tips. It's a slippery slope when you start cleaning you car...

Why not have one of "your people" do it?

What the heck is "break dust"? Does it come off
when you are breaking wind?

Oh but don't worry, that stuff is not going to kill you unless you
lick it.

Seriously, the W204 is not that bad. A good washing and some polish will give you a week of shiny rims.

So I called up the MB service department and they said the part number was 89 and it would not be covered under warranty since they don't believe it was their fault. Scum bags! I called up this guy name Arco, he said we can do a group buy with 50+ people and he would give us the part for 10 and 9/10 cents cheaper then anyone else but something smells fishy. I don't think he is legit since he wont take Paypal. Anyone ever dealt with this guy?

PS. How do you get 9/10 of a cent? Will I have mod the penny to get some weight off? I think they make pennies in carbon fiber now too!
