You Canadians must drive crazy No problem though this is no user error so I will get you a replacement! Sometimes you have bad parts that happens sometimes even with current quality management. But nice blowout, weird that it wasn't the resistor.
Mine still work fine... Maybe a car is just too "butch" for something as controlled and small like an LED without big electronics backing it up (like in our tail lights)

Got mine installed it drove for less then 20 mins......start to smell burning smell ...got out of the car saw the led not working. Checked it and was shocked to see the BURNED LED.....installed another one into it but now the cover give me a brown stain that will be there for good.

You might be able to get the stain out with some polish and a tooth brush.

Checked mines, and they look fine after a month and a half (at least for now)
So, if anyone has a spare LED pair that they no longer wants, let me know. I will take it.

I have a quick question. When these LED were manufactured was the fact that they would be inserted in a non-ventilated space, close to the hot engine bay considered?
Thus far about 4 out the the 200 have burnt out which is an acceptable rate - but this may change with time. What's the longest someone has had these installed for, in a hot climate, without any issue?

Look great dps01, I'm also in the progress of trying to match my lowbeam headlight with the eye lid LED but so far i have had no luck. I bought 2 pairs of JDM "BIHAKU" Super Bright T10 Wedge LED bulbs with Built-in Load Resistors off ebay and put them in last night. I also swapped out the stock low-beam HID bulbs with 6000k giving a true white color. Unfortunetly the LED I bought did not match the 6000k low-beam headlights. Check out the picture, you can see after putting it in it gives a blueish color. Does anyone have any suggestions or know where i can get true white LED for the eyelid to match the 6000k color temp? Thanks

Wow hip424. My LEDs definitely don't turn that blue; just a little tinge that makes you kind of question if you're seeing things. I guess the search continues. Maybe try the Polarg bulbs from the other thread? They seem to match well if not as bright...

FYI:
I'm not dead Just home alone and working and studying for exams so 0.0 time left.
- LED guy is on holiday, I have paid him and mailed him and will send out warranty LEDs when he's back. (No clue when - had it on my Thinkpad but the HD corrupted so lost my Outlook )
- Paypal is retarded. Ask tanktube he'll know what I mean. They closed the chargeback case and gave me my money back (11/08) and the same day they cleared it again PLUS they charged like €11,25 for their "help". First of all their help was none-existant and second of all WTF €11,25 and thirdly since when the **** do they charge money to me for that wtf!
But will send out replacements but I pay my contact using Paypal and that's impossible atm. Not tanktube's fault but all on Paypal who are lying, lazy, thieving scum!
Oh and LOL: blew a DRL on the Scirocco and the little socket got damaged (Valeo - plastic melted) so I pulled it out and took it to the dealer. Guess what... VW doesn't distribute those $0,50 sockets so they have to replace the whole left side light. A $1000 warranty repair for a $0,50 problem and then car manufacturers complain that they are going out of business... Please, grow brains VW!
