Proper Alignment on W204

What should the proper alignment be on the W204. The specs have a very broad range, but what are the factory settings at usually. Both for the camber and for the Toe of the front and rear.

Anything within the factory published range is fine with one exception - Castor - Castor must be one deg more positive on RHS than on LHS and the reverse of that on RH Drive cars to stop tracking with road camber. Any fiddling with suspension or increased offset on the front wheels that changes the scrub radius put's you in no man's land.

Don't they have to tweak the suspension in order to fix the alignment? Does fixing the Toe of the car involve adjusting suspension or something else?

What do you mean by tweak the suspension? It is all adjustable by rotating track rods, shimming & moving 3 position castor & camber fluted bolts in their bushing. Setting toe is the easiest. They just have to rotate the track rods out of the rack & lock with a nut.

They don't have to bend anything unless you've been in a prang. I'm not sure I understand your question.

So basically I went to this tire shop because my tires were feathering, they checked my alignment and said my alignment was off the toe of my car was at .12 and .14 when the specs are between .15 and .40... everything else was in range. The guy told me he could do something where my handling would be much more responsive by doing something. I see the numbers at the end were .30 from the .12 and .14. So I drive the car and I see it is much sharper steering response. As I take a turn, I see the car seems to give out much quicker at just around 20 or 25 m.p.h. I go back and tell them this, they say its within factory specs. I had them change it back and they put it at .16 and now I feel as if the car is too loose in terms of steering response. I don't know what to do.

Ughhh! I feel your pain... I had alignment issues with my steering wheel being off center, etc... Took me 3 trips back to the dealership to get it all sorted out :-(... Can I recommend that you bring it back to the dealership and let them have a go at it? At least they "KNOW" these cars, supposedly...
