License plate LED flickers....

Hey guys,

I have installed my license plate LEDs, but I realized that when the car is in low rpm (or lower gear), it flickers! Any suggestions?

you will need to wire a resistor to each light or get LED bulbs with a built in resistor.

Yes it has a built in resistor in it. It only flickers when the car is in low rpm (or lower gear), once you get the speed up it is fine.... very weird....

Your LEDs draw less power than what your halogen bulbs used to, thus the computer thinks its burnt out and its flickering the bulb because its trying to 'detect' if there is the correct resistance. Solution = add resistors into the chain.

What kind of resistor and LED combo do you recommend?

This is what I had...what you see in there thats just only for one side (right) you have to do the other side too and no I dont have any problem or error so far and of course there is the other way to do too.

I have used these on my regular LED bulbs with good success:

any kind of basic LEDs would do. you just need the correct resistor (5w100ohm) to draw the expected power in the circuit.
