50+ hp and torque gains for $55??? Is this legit?
I was on amazon yesterday and I open up this "gave saving chip" for our cars and it says 40 or 50+ hp and 50+ torque gains and about 5 mpg better for our cars. Does this really work??

Personally I wouldn't do it. My friend had a greddy tuned one on his acura tl type s and it didnt show much improvement (according to dyno), at all.
On the other hand, hey maybe it'll work, but I doubt it.
Keep in mind...
If Mercedes Benz could improve the efficiency of its vehicles/engines for 54.95 plus shipping to the place of your choice, why wouldn't it have already?

Cheap is a relative word in terms of how much you think is cheap.
There are your normal mod options such as headers, exhaust that's available or will be available in the case of headers. There are also ecu mods that are available from a few tuners out there.
Then there are 'mods' that are beneficial speed wise such as lighter wheels and tires. The difference of a lighter wheel and tire on your car is quite drastic and not many people look into that aspect. Weight reduction is also helpful so you may want to removal some unnecessary weight in your car like heavy aftermarket subwoofer boxes etc.
To be quite honest and to answer your question, when headers are available(correct me if I'm wrong, they are not yet because of fitment issues) that's probably the best bang for the money modification you can do. Exhaust systems and tuning is quite expensive right now.

I have ordered 2 sets, so the gain will be + 100hp +100NM
If i'm getting tyred i will order more sets, so at the end of this year i will have aprox. 1000hp and 2000nm.
Cheaper than a C63 and much faster, and with that 1000hp the Mpeg ewill stay the same as now.
Incredible, yeah whoehoeeeeee
So now it's time to take a

Define cheap.
RENNtech has a header/ecu combo that's supposed to add close to 40HP/Tq for $4000, costs about a grand to have the headers installed, so ~$5K OTD.
Or just do an ECU tune from various venders for $600-$1500 and gain 10-15hp/tq.
I'm hoping RENNtech released their new R.A.T. (plug-n-play ECU tuner) device for our cars soon.

ECU tune is the cheapest mod, but if you want to do that by a reliable tuner it cost you more than just a couple of hundreds.
But i dont understand it, people drive a MB and want to do cheap tuning.
WHY?
Just spend some bucks on a good tuner rather than do a cheap tuning by a unknown company.
Do it good, or stay away from it!! most cheap tuners brings more damage to your car than HP.

The MB ECU tune is pretty much optimised for driveability, durability & fuel consumption without stumble in certain conditions. It is very difficult to improve on. You can add in some places but you always loose somewhere else. It's all about compromise. Most ECU tunes without other hardware push the power & torque up the rev range. If you have a 7G auto do not mess with the ECU if you value driveability - Don't say to me what about AMG? They balance all the issues that MB do standard & reprofile the TCU.

who quoted you on the header install for 1K? that is absurd! if its anything as annoying as it is on W203s or on my C32, it shouldnt take more than 3 to 4 hours MAX with an experienced independent MB tech. I installed mine with a guy who has never worked on a Benz before (hard core honda guy, with a turbo'd one running 10s) and the actual installation process only took like 2.5 hours.
