Did you got your tires installed by your MB dealer?

Went to my local MB dealer for a new set of tires estimate for my C-350 with 18 " . They asked me 1400.00 out of the door for the Pirellis P Zero all season.
Installation (Labor) was 100.00 plus tax.

I can get the same tires from Tire Rack in my garage for 650.00. My question is if any of you got the out side tires installed by the dealer. and How much?

why would anyone go back to dealer and pay dealer price for something as simple as mounting tires. Take it to any of your local tire shops and get it done cheap. Mounting tires isn't rocket science and doesn't require dealership to do so. Save yourself the cash

Question

Getting ready to get new tires. Is there any replacement parts on the TPMS (rubber, gasket, etc.) ?
Are there factory weights available?
Is there factory paint to touch up where old weights were if scratched?
Was thinking of putting old wheels 17" on car and then taking off weights carefully from 18" myself , cleaning and waxing wheels before new tires go on.
Thx

Tire-rack is great - even or Canadians who get nailed on the extra UPS handling fees and other fees/taxes. We save at least %30 compared to local tire shops who are prices close to dealer.

I recently had two right tires replaced because wife went over a curb. Tire shop replaced the blown front with a 94H instaed of 91H so had to take it back and they were jerks.

Found out had a slow leak in the sidewall of the rear so had the dealer replace that since it was there for some warranty stuff anyway. Original they were going to charge me $80 more than Tire-Rack would have cost but because they had to bring the car back as had no time to work on it they sold me the tire at $300 installed.

I have ordered tires and tire wheel combos from tire rack for 6+ years and they really are the best service and price! Saved at least $1K on my 204 winters compared to local shops. Must be nice to have home install service!!

Roberto....make this easy, a good value, and high quality for yourself. Order from Tire Rack and have them shipped directly to their recommended installer in your area. See their website for "Installation".....Done!

Agree 100% with this. I used Tire Rack when I purchased my wheels. Had them in two days, and great customer service when I had one of my TPMS sensors break.

That's a big price difference. Are you positive your dealer didn't quote you on P-Zero's and while tirerack is quoting you P-Zero Nero's?? Might be worth double checking because $1400 wouldn't be out of the question for P-Zero's OTD. I think tirerack is around $1200 for them.

EDIT: Also, I got my Blizzak's from the dealer. When ever I've called to get a quote on a tire their price has been close to tireracks price.
