Ideal Tire Pressure

I just purchased a C350 Sport Package with 18'' AMG rims... The recommended PSI for front is 33 and the 38 for the back tires. Does anyone recommend any other tire pressure settings based on performance or comfort. I'm currently using 32/35. Should I just use the factory settings.

when you say recommended, is that what is recommended on the tire? or recommended in the driver side door jam of the car?

and shouldnt you post this in the CLK section?

The recommended PSI on the gas door. I have C350 as well now.

oh musta missed that, my bad

you mentioned it is a different rim size. is the width/height of the tire the same as those without those rims? if so, i'd go with the stock recommendations on the gas door.

if not, i'd go with the recommendations on the tires since the gas door specs will be specific for the stock tire size

i run the recommended 100mph+ pressures...

35 & 40 f/r..

takes away some of the squatting under braking and improves responsiveness and predictability in the turns...

There is no recommended pressure printed/embossed/etc on the tires. That is max. And that takes a lot of different factors into consideration.

Two variables that need to be taken into consideration.

Top speed and weight.

Heavy foot and/or usually loaded(not alchohol related), use the figures in the gas cap.

More reasonable driving and mostly just yourself, use the figures in the door jam as a starting point and experiment. I found that the pressure I used for my front tires needed to go up as I put miles on the tires.

I'm not going to "heavy foot" this car. I just desire something with comfort and good control for some unpredictable events. I'm up for any suggestions and then i'll try them out.

I've been using 35psi in the rear because it softens the ride a bit and I never have any backseat passengers or much in the trunk. Tire wear is normal.

You can play with the pressures a bit to make up your own mind.

The TP shown on the sidewall is max allowable, not running pressure.
