Benz fits Conti tyres to about one third of their production - because they get them cheap on tender. Michelin & Pirelli get most of the rest unless Bridgestone get a look in sometimes. My service manager wishes they would stop this practice because he has so many complaints of noise, harshness, vibration & reported wheel bearing failure which is in fact the Conti tyres.
Splinter runs an AMG C32 modified with 245/40/17 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus all round & blows everyone I know in canyon runs. If you want the best summer only tyres there are 2 choices - PS2s or Exalto PE2s. Restricted sizes in PE2.
If you want respective tyre weights - see Tirerack tables.

2009 C63 AMG
Hmm.. I was thinking about installing the DWS tires on my C63 AMG of the DC-metro winter. But now am thinking about the Pilot Sport A/S Plus instead.
Someone mentioned that the C63's higher torque might have problems with A/S tires. Any thoughts guys?

The Pilot Sport A/S Plus will have no problem with a C63s torque. If they can live on a Porsche they will handle the C63. You just have to accept that a C63 can tear up it's rear tyres pretty quickly if you drive it brutally - That goes for any tyre.
EDIT - Clarkson destroyed a set of rears in a few hours.
