Antenna Questions
Hi guys, I have some questions about the antenna (shark fin) on my C with Panoramic roof, please give me some advices.

Recently the antenna got scratched due to a machine car wash. It's not too bad but still visible, so I want to replace it. Could someone tell me how much the part is? I wonder if it's difficult to replace it myself. Is there any DIY instruction?

The one and only time my wife took her E through a car wash, the same thing happened, but it also dented in the roof panel. Check yours carefully. But, why not consider having it repainted? May be cheaper than replacing.

my buddy had his c63 antenna replaced.. took it to MB bodyshop, $1800 CDN, did it at a friend's garage, $1000cdn.

I don't know if he knows.. aha but I'll take a look at what MB quoted him on just the part if he still has the paper..

Would you also ask him how complicated the job was for replacing the antenna? Did they just take out the dome light and unscrew the antenna or have to take out the whole head liner first?

they had to take out the whole headliner i think.. I will probably see him later so I'll ask for the info for you.

I am also thinking of have it repainted, but the base of the antenna seems a little bit loose due to the impact. I will give it a try see if I can screw it back, otherwise I might have to replace it

I found the base of antenna is loose, if the price of the part is too crazy, I wonder if I can screw it back by just taking out the rear dome light, thanks for helping!

Btw, what happened to your friend's C63?
