Gun Metal Grille

I paint my C300 sport grille in Gun Metal. Just want to add the depth and texture in between the chrome and the blade on the grille. It's just a subtle changed to dim the original bright plain silver grille down. Since it's the metalic paint, the color changed along with the light of the day. It looks really dark that you can only see the chrome parts without seeing the blades when the sun goes down.

IMO, matte black would look much better.

Thanks for all the comments. I know it's a subtle changed from the original silver grille and that's my goal. Since I have the black car, I think if I paint my grille black, it'd be too plain with black on black. I need some depth on that silver grille, that's why I ended up with gun metal. Just to add the differences and texture between the chrome and the blade.

I'm with you about too much black looking plain, but painting the grill black and leaving the chrome looks really good. Not too much black.

Thanks for the comment. I like the gunmetal slab as well. The only concerns that I have is there's no gunmetal color in any other parts of the car, except the grille, but I think it can nicely blended in with the overall black car. I use all Dupricolor spray paint products, start from sanding the slab and then use their dark primer and then gunmetal paint and finish with clear top coat. I haven't had any problem with chipping or peeling at all. It's very good paint products which cost me around $20 all together.
