New wheel option, and seller you might not be familiar with
Hey guys,
I know there are a bunch of replica places out there. I know elaine for 1 just got the eurotech c63 replicas.
Well on my corvette, i use to get z06 replicas, by a company called oewheels.
They are really cheap, but REALLY good quality wheel, and a great company. So I stumbled on what they have for mercedes.
What do you all think:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-x-...item3356c3d337
For those who can't click:
First and foremost, will Front 18 x 8.5"- 42mm - 66.6cb / Rear 18 x 9.5" - 44mm - 66.6cb Fit 08+ C300s?
I don't know how they would look compared to a c63 replica. For $500 shipped for 18"s -- can't go wrong, and I have had great success for YEARS with this company. They are a vendor on corvetteforum, with outstanding reviews.
Comparisson:
c63 replica from eurotech (usarim):
and oemwheels:
How do you think they would look on a w204 ?

Seen these awhile back, i like them but not sure about the durability of the wheels. I googled the company and remember there were some bad reviews...most of which related to wheels that seemed re-finished, not brand new. Idk...at those prices it just seems sketchy.

They're a banner advertiser.
I, too, have seen sketchy reviews, but it seemed like they were customer-service-related complaints. The prices aren't any different from other replica companies, so I wouldn't ding them solely on that. Besides, you have first-hand positive experience with them, so I'd say go for it! Wheel looks just like the OEM to me...

They are exactly like the c63 replica except in the middle, the c63 is a graphite color in the middle, the oewheels ones actually have wholes in the middle and the graphite color only is out at the ends..
wonder how it would look vs the c63?
Btw, the eurotech (usarim) he just msged me back and told me the offset is 35... an 18x8.5 and a 18x9.5 with a 35 offset that will work on our cars? with tires: Front: 225/40R18 Rear: 255/35R18

I almost bought from these guys until I called them, gave them the exact model and year of my car and they were going to ship me wheels with 35mm offset. I told them I didn't think they would fit and the guys said, well I'll just send you some with a 44mm then. I was not impressed. You can look up your original wheel offset in your manual and use a wheel offset calculator on the web and figure out the difference. I'm pretty sure 9.5" rear at 44mm will stick out too far as OEM in the rear at 8.5" has an offset of high 50's.

With an 18*8.5 & 18*9.5 what is the ideal offset to have front and back?
And would I want to do 225/40 front
and 235/40/18 back or 255/35/18 back? what would be best for all season driving?

I actually have these on my car. I wanted an inexpensive set of wheels because I dont keep my cars long enough to make a good set of wheels a worthwhile investment. They have a 42mm offset in the front and a 44mm offset in the back and they look good imo. A little more aggressive than stock..but they dont really stick out either. the wheels are about even with the fenders. I put 235mm wide tires on the front and 265mm on the back rather than 225/255. I have very little gap and no fitment issues.

When he actually helps another member I might value the odd opinion but I'm not holding my breath

Things to watch are
- No rubbing.
- Breaking through the aerodynamic skin effect of the body profile.
- Increase in scrub radius on the front that can cause the car to tramline. Many tolerate this for improved handling.
