Repairing a scraped front bumper on C350 Sport?
Hello everyone, I'm brand new to the MB World. Just bought my 2008 C350 Sport last weekend used for a great price from a local MB dealership. I've been a Mazda/Honda guy primarily until now and MB is at a whole other level. My C is in superb condition for pre-owned except for one area...the front bumper was scraped underneath several times by the first owner.
It is not noticeable unless you look under the car but I am very particular about my cars and want to get this fixed ASAP. Has anyone else had this repaired by an auto body shop? It looks like they could just sand down the underside of the bumper and re-paint the affected area. I really don't need the entire bumper painted.
I'm wondering if you've had this done and how much you paid? We have a local MB dealer here that does body work so I'll take it in soon for an estimate but wanted to know what to expect as far as cost to make sure I'm getting a good deal. If it's too high I'm just going to buy a CF lip to cover it.
Loving the new Benz, well new to me! Traded my 2007 Mazda CX-7 AWD so took awhile to get used to driving a low slung sporty car again but it is incredible!

Enjoyed the new car and dont worry about the scrape on the bottom, what people dont see wont hurt you. I learned that scraping on the bottom is just part of wear n tear of a car and will kill my wife if she goes over a parking bump

The 2nd day my mom drove my car, she scraped up the bottom of the front bumper BAD on one of those parking bumpers. Both sides... She got it painted, just the scraped areas, and now it's scraped again... ![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)

Even though it's not noticeable I would still like to get it fixed, how much did you pay to have it fixed? I trade cars every 2-3 years and always get top trade in value since my cars are immaculate. Plus I'm a little **** about my cars, probably no surprise there!
So anyone have a scraped bumper repaired/painted? Cost?

I'm the same. Little things annoy me a lot... But I'm not sure how much it cost. My mom scratched it, so she paid for it. But I think she got it cheap because she went to a local small auto repair shop and she knows the owner I think.

That's what I was hoping, thought it might be more. I'll check with the MB auto body dept. this week for an estimate. Hopefully it's less than a CF front lip. I do like those as well but would like to keep the car stock and not drill holes into the bumper.

ugh, I just lightly scraped my first time today parking in a space that was downhill into the curb. What a ****ty feeling. I'll probably have my neighbor touch it up since he owns a body shop, should be about $300.

I got a quote from my MB dealership today and they will sand down the scrapes, fill if needed, and paint for about $150. I was super happy to learn this! They don't even have to remove the bumper. I too am waiting until the spring.

This is one of the consequences of our low profile bumpers, it's very common and will most likely re-occur again. In my area the MB Service is mainly responsible for the scrapes. Just buy some touch-up paint or spray and be careful with those low cement parking bumpers in parking lots.

I was pulling into my spot the other day (driving my other car) and I saw there are quite a few "white lines" underneath the front bumper of my C. I asked my gf if she has anything to say to me and she looked at me innocently and said: "huh? did I scrape your car? where?" I was like...."don't worry about it...the car is only a month old...things happen..."
I really don't know what to say. I'll probably fix it after the winter....

I have scraped the lower front lip many times and used black spray paint to hide the white scratches myself.

My local dealership is MB of Kansas City but I would think most dealerships would offer a similar service. I'm waiting until spring to have mine fixed since we are heading into winter here and it's a same day service so don't want any dirt/grime to get into the new paint.

The wife did ours in within the first 30 days....says she has no clue how it happened. Go figure, I guess the cement stop jumped up and attacked the car. I think I am going to buy some black spray undercoating and mask off a line near the curves. My car is paladium silver, the cover on the bottom side of the engine is black along with the lower grille so I think it will blend in nice. I was going to get it painted, but then, I know it will happen again (and again). This would be an inexpensive way to fix it and have it look nice.
