Has anyone experienced this problem before *rough start up and CEL*

So I went to get in my car this morning (last drove it on Saturday, so sitting in my garage for a day or so) and as soon as I turned the ignition the car started to shake pretty violently and the check engine light came on. I let it idle for a couple minutes and the vibration let up a little bit (still evident, but not nearly as rough and nowhere near what I have experienced in the past with this car).

I decided to take my other car today. So when I returned to my house I checked the C350 to see if the same thing would happen hours later. Upon startup, the car did not vibrate at all however the check engine light is still illuminated.

Anyone have ideas what this could be? I suppose I should bring it in to the dealer to see whats up

CEL normally goes on and stays on even after a certain amount of cycles.

it could be alot of very common things like o2 sensor to bad exhaust cam magnets that m272's seem to have alot with. hope it's just that and your dealer fixes them under warranty. i would get the code pulled(not erased) before going into the dealer so you know what exact code problem you were having.

Get hold of an OBDII/CAN scanner & read codes or leave to dealer. You are under warranty. Could be a CPS problem.

Only if it persists. Plugs, wires, coilpacks, Sometimes CPS or MAF

Well, with my experience. After a month i got mine, when i first start my engine, it sounded weird (like a stutter sound) but no crazy vibration. It kept doing that so i took it to the dealer and they said it was something with mystarter.. they replaced that. They said it's a common issues for the C class, and then it happens again and my engine light comes on, i took it back, then they said the fuel pressure mechanism is messed up and that might be the reason for the stuttering in the first place. THEY REPLACED that too. it's good so far.............. so i recommend taking it to the dealer to check it out
