| 08C300 | HID KIT PURCHASING |
Hi, all.
I have 08 c300 w/o oem xenon(hid) option, which i am thinking about getting hid kit installed on my car, but i heard there are some low price hid kit that give trouble by blinking, which can be solved by putting error code or some kind of extra kit.
Is there any better HID Kit i could purchase in the market, such as phillips hid kits, so that i don't have worry about light blinking?
I've contacted local tuning shop, Eurorev, regarding HID Kit(claimed to be Japanese product|$250 for product and instllation), and they are confident it won't give blinking problem.
but i would like to spend little bit more to prevent headache.
do you guys have any idea or information?

Me and I'm sure a lot of the other forum members here are using the DDM HID kit with the error cancelers. I've had them on since June of 08 and have had no problems.
Check them out http://ddmtuning.com/
For $250 for the kit + install you could save yourself $100 just installing them yourself. i'm sure there's a DIY thread for HIDs somewhere floating around.

I have a DDM HID kit in since Thanksgiving, and I have had no problems.
Worked first try with error cancellors.
And there's not DIY for HIDs in low beams, but it's a pretty straightforward install.

I got a HID Kit 6000K for my Audi 3 years ago and when I return my Audi in July I transfer the HID's to my C300 and it has never giving me any problems with both cars. I got these HID's from a local shop around where I live and the guy was nice enough and said to me that he would give me a week to see if the HID's would throw error codes on my car and that if that was the case I can return it and get a full refund of my money. So you should go check around local shops and see what they offer you.

I didnt take any pics, took less than an hour. My (ML) headlight housing is large enough to enclose the entire ballast and all wiring so no need to drill or do any real modifications....
I never cracked open the lights on my 08 C300...traded in too quickly. Loved the car, wifey wanted the SUV....

I just had to "tweak" the bulb retaining clip a little....nothing major. Im not sure on the W204...a hole may need to be drilled in the weatherproof cap to allow the wires through, thats about it.....

Thanks for the info. I would go and check with my installer. If he knows what to do then I guess most likely I would proceed with switching them to HIDs.
