What steering wheel will I get?

Hi all,

I ordered a 2010 revision C220 CDI Avantgarde in September. It still hasn't arrived since they pushed back the build to receive the new BlueEfficiency (or something) 220 CDI engine.

I'm just wondering what style steering wheel my car will have? It's the Avantgarde as I say, with COMAND APS, the Vision pack, and multi-contour seats. If it makes a difference the interior is Alpaca Grey leather with aluminium trim.

I've seen a kind of three-spoke wheel that looks like a "T" (link: http://www.netcarshow.com/mercedes-b...llpaper_86.htm) and I've also seen a four-spoke style (link: http://www.netcarshow.com/mercedes-b...llpaper_88.htm).

Thanks a lot!
Tom B.

From what I recall the Avantgarde trim is equivalent to the Sport trim here in the US, so I believe you're going to get the 3-Spoke Steering Wheel.

I have it on my 2008 and I have to say I really like it, apart from the fact that the rim is a bit too thin, but you'll get used to it.

Sounds good. It's interesting though the way the models differ; I've recently returned from business in the States (I live in Sydney, AUS). The Avantgarde here has the Sport's grille and the Luxury's wheels, and no body kit or AMG pack.

Thanks for the info.

That looks great Sportstick. I like the flat bottom for the sports feel but mostly I like the perforated design of the leather wraparound trim; I'm actually using a new E250 Coupé from the dealer right now while I wait for the C to be delivered and its similar leather design has 'spoiled' me.

I'll look into ordering and how I might go about fitting it.. I'm a real newbie to any kind of modification!

This one turned out to be very easy! Designed to keep OE air bag hub, unlike, for example, a C63 wheel. It was less than 10 minutes to remove hub and wheel and pop new wheel and old hub in place. Another poster pointed out that if the battery is disconnected, you don't even get the one error message of a (briefly) disconnected air bag that I did, which the tech eliminated in about one additional minute. This has been my favorite mod so far...wheel feels great!

When you buy an Avantgarde i Sweden and rest of Europe aswell i suppose, you get the 4-spoke wheel. At least that was the case for MY2009, the 3-spoke wheel comes with AMG-package here.

You will get the 4-spoke, only if you have the AMG Styling package you will have the 3 spoke

Nope, we have a couple of options in Europe:

W204 Classic: the most simple version, with black interior trims, black trims outside, steel wheels, no menu in the dashboard (boardcomputer).

Basic price

W204 Elegance: With the chrome grill (what you called luxury), chrome trims on the outside, wood interior trims.

Price as classic + € 2800,00

W204 Avantgarde: With the Sport Grille, chrome outside trims, aluminium trims inside, smoked taillights (just a little bit)

Price as classic + € 2800,00

Than we can choise for:
Comfort package € 2900,00
AMG Styling package € 4600,00 for the classic, € 3200,00 for the elegance and € 2800,00 for the avantgarde

And we have a ton of options to chose, like navigation,Xenon, Alarm, wheels,Rain sensors, and many more.

In US, I don't know but my c300 sport amg packaged have 4 spoke, different than others. I think it's about color of your interior. If you are getting black or gray upper holstery(so handle color is gray or black, it should be 3 spoke if AMG packaged. In my case, my car is tan-color handle so even tho it is AMG sport, it is 4 spoke. I am have been meaning to purchase cool wheel(flat bottom)
