Not sure about cross-compatibility, but economically, unless you find something used, this seems the best bet. I have the three spoke and it is outstanding! And, you get to keep and reuse the same airbag hub!

Fitting an alternative steering wheel
I've got a C320 CDI Sport with a Brabus engine conversion. Boy, does it go! I thought the original steering wheel was too big so I bought a C63 Steering wheel and air bag off E bay and got them fitted by my local dealer. It was literally plug and fit. The only thing that had to be re-set on the garage computer was the airbag setting. The paddle shifters on the C63 wheel work without any problems and the steering wheel (being flat bottomed) is very comfortable in use. I thought it was well worth the money and I'm amazed that MB don't offer it as an option when buying the car. It may be different in the US but here in the UK, they don't. From memory, it cost about £850 to do the swop. The only problem is that I have a virtually new (standard) steering wheel and air bag sat in my garage doing nothing! The C63 wheel came from Sweden and I actually spoke to the guy on the phone - he was very helpful and I know he ships all over the world. Hope this helps.

Could you send me the website where I can buy the C63 steering wheel?

Further to my note on the steering wheel you might find the following information useful:
Log on to e bay and simply input c63. It's as simple as that. Page through and you'll find the C63 steering wheel advertised from a chap in Sweden. This is the same man I dealt with and he is extremely helpful. There is an e mail address to contact him and I have nothing but praise for his speedy and prompt replies etc. You will also need to order the air bag which is round about the same price as the steering wheel. The parts are all genuine MB. I find the C63 steering wheel much better in use that the one that was fitted (3 spoke sport wheel). It is a smaller diameter, has a flat bottom and is much easier to use. The paddle shifters are great.
If there's anything else I can help you with please contact me.

I'm not sure how the UK and US specifications compare but, if your present steering wheel has the paddle shifters already fitted then there is no problem and the C63 wheel is a straight substitute. The wiring matches perfectly. The only thing that needs to be done after fitting is to have air bag warning re-set by MB. The steering wheel I had on my C320 CDI aleady had (black plastic) paddle shifters fitted so I encountered no difficulty in fitting the C63 wheel. I was a bit apprehensive about fitting it or even trying to fit it myself so I took it to my MB dealers and it took only a few minutes for a technician to fit the C63 wheel.
Obviously, if your present steering wheel does not have paddle shifters on it then the paddle shifters on a C63 replacement would not work. I haven't a clue as to whether the wiring or whatever could be altered to accomodate it.
I hope this reply has been of help to you.

No, you need to swap complete units, wheel and bag
Can truly recommend the steering wheel from the 212 sports package (950) its extremely soft and nice looking with its alu trim.

So the c63 wheel would work even though the paddle shifters are connected? This is a very expensize swap but the look, feel, and thickness of the c63 wheel is awesome!

I'll just post this here because it could help. There's aftermarket mods made to OEM parts like mine.
Schaetz Tuning is a company I'm rapidly gaining in appreciation. And their prices still beat formymercedes at exchange rate. I'm paying $801 instead of $988 or something saving two hundred dollars and free shipping,
MP Design & Technik is where I sent mine in to get upgraded, and a bonus was that they offered me competitive prices to the other places, but also a 430 euro core deposit. Their product quality is excellent. They will listen to everything you say and do everything you tell them to. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS. I couldn't get the arrogant ****ers at Brabus to deviate from their books for the smallest things.
