Spoiler Follow Up
Well it has been at least six months to a year now for a lot of people that installed aftermarket spoilers on their '08 or '09 W204s. I'm planning on buying a spoiler soon and installing it myself so I was wondering how yours are holding up. Have you had any problems with whatever adhesive you used (3M tape, glue, etc)? Have you had to reinstall them because your adhesive failed?
Please share your stories of success or failure (in regards to aftermarket spoilers) so that the uninitiated don't make the same mistakes. Thanks!

Bought AMG type spoiler from JBSpeed, through this forum, painted in bodycolor. Spoiler arrived in perfect condition with perfect paint match. Installed with tape and a bead of urethane and allowed to sit for 24 hours indoors. No issues at all since early last Spring.

I got my Brabus 3 Piece Spoiler from JBSpeed a few days ago and now waiting for the 3M Adhesion promoter i ordered online to arrive this week and to have it installed.
Mind you it currently 20 degrees here in NY, hence I will do the installtion inside the garage with portable heater running for 48 hours hehehe

Not 204 but about a year ago I installed my roof wing on my w210 w/ 3m double sided tape and black rtv silicone (3m promoter on both surfaces) and only thing I'd do different is ditch the 3m tape all together and just run silicone, tape has unstuck itself from the window and spoiler in some places.
-nice edit LoL

you should be fine, but you'll want to do it on a warmer day....ideal application should be temps at 70-100 degree F, otherwise the adhesive will be too firm to properly bond.

I used 3M double sided molding tape and the corners of my roof spoiler and trunk spoiler are peeling . . I'll have to redo everything once it gets warm, possibly use silicone rather than 3M tape.

Not sure if it was an error, but my spoiler package did not have tape. Our excellent local shop, MotorWerks, in Commerce Township, Michigan, did the install for me, using tape and urethane. These pros are very thorough!!

Thanks again for the feedback. Now I just have to decide who to buy from and if I want Brabus or AMG..... decisions.

I highly recommend that you buy the 3M Adhesion promoter ($1.50 each) a very good investment as this will help the 3M double sided tape bond to your car 100% better than without it.
Go to youtube.com and search for 3M Adhesion promoter and you will see how good this product is.
I recently installed mine under a very cold weather here in NY and it has been 3 weeks, cold, rain, salt and the spoiler is not badging at all.
Goodluck!
