Need advice on tire brands!

Hey buddies, i wanted your advice on the tires i want to purchase. I want to use Yokohama S.Drives. Have used these previously but on a different car which was much lighter and low on performance as compared to the C. Before anyone says anything, i'd like to tell you that, we have only Michelin, Pirelli, Goodyear, and Yokohama in India. Kindly suggest accordingly! Cheers!!

Easy.....Michelin Sport PS2.......just don't go near a snowflake and back down in freezing temps. Warm and dry...can't do better! This is a higher performance category than your Yokohamas.

In same performance category as S Drive, get Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2

Haha. I saw that coming! Everyone suggests Michelin PS2s. I like those tires to be honest but then those tread patterns on the Yokos really draw me towards themselves! I've also thought of Goodyear F1 Eagles but i think the Michelins would be far better than those

I think your final conclusion is correct....just compare how much time you spend staring at your tread versus driving on your tread! Just buy a Yokohama poster and hang it in your garage!

Well, based on about 34 million owner miles reported on tire rack:

Michelin wins: Would Buy Again, Dry Handling, Comfort

Goodyear wins: Wet Handling, Treadwear

The differences are fairly small, but what's most important to you?

I have S. Drives on my S2K, and I am very satify with it, the tread patterns are aggressive so I liked them. But I have to be honest, for the price and quality fo the S. Drives you cant beat it. They are constantly rising the price on those tires because they are new and now it getting more popular. Michelins has always been one of the top brands of tires, it just a matter of spending atleast $800 a set.

Hmmm. So its Michelins in your opinion. And it makes sense too! Thanks for your time buddy

I agree with you on the tread patterns, but then our fellow member has some point with the Michelins. Besides the budget is no barrier for me

Well I'm going to be using those on 18s. I can't afford to run on on a higher rim size due to the bad road conditions in India. I've used S.Drives on 16s (205/50/R16) and they were pretty good on those with no noise either. The main reason why i put up this question was because i wanted to know how they would react fitted on lower aspect ratios. The overall winner is but of course The Michelin!!

definitely PS2's instead of Eagle F1's. I have PS2's on my sister's car and my friend has Goodyear Eagle F1's. Both handle about the same BUT the Goodyear's are WAYY and i mean WAY too smooth!! if a smoother ride is what you're going for, go with the goodyears. but if you want handling, still a smoother ride but at the same time rough when you want it to be, get the michelins.

p.s. your car will not FEEL as fast if you get goodyears

Thanks man! Already ordered a set of those(235/40/R18x8 fronts- 265/35/R18x9.5 rears). Will probably get them in the next 20 days as they aren't available in stock here in India.

You won't be sorry! Just put a new set of PS2's on my car with new wheels. They are superb.
Good luck
