Well majority on this forum have X-Pipes. I too am getting an X-Pipe. You could try with straight pipes but they have a popping sound sometimes on high RPMs. Besides that X-Pipes are way smoother!

I tried straight pipes and believe me, it sounds like total $h!t...I would never, ever recommend it for these cars. I like the sound of my x-pipe so you may want to give it a try.

I checked out the website because I too am looking to install the x-pipe but it seems a bit too cheap. It says here thats its about $83 and it sounds like a fake. Is that the normal price or are there other things that I have to buy along with it. How much would the installation cost???

The X-Pipe is really quite simple so 83$ is not so cheap.

I wouldn't mess with the cats as that has the potential to open you up to warranty claim denials.

So is the X-Pipe the only way of getting a nice growl sound anything else I need to do? Also when I buy it where do I take it? Regular muffler shop?

Maybe you need to relax a little. As long as the guy is keeping pretty close to the original post, you may even get something out of it...the general question of "what else" may end up showing you what to do next...
Maybe an H pipe if you are really pushing for more noise. I don't think anyone on here has tried it but it should be somewhere between the annoyingly loud and poppy straight pipes and the mellower X.

Nope, it wouldn't mess up your warranty. But you'll have to go through the whole process of cutting the resonator off and welding on the X-Pipe yourself. Besides that if its not welded on properly, there would be popping noises and cause exhaust gasses to leak which would cause problems with back compression. Still if you think you're a pro at it, go ahead!

Well to put it in the other sense, X-Pipe is your safest bet. H-Pipes are louder and throatier but they do have that popping sound to them. Besides its said that they also make you lose back compression. For a more detailed insight yet easy to understand, follow the link buddy:-

Either you buy a nice X pipe @ magnaflow or just go to a muffler shop and make them do it..... Thay can fabricate it over there and it can cost u cheaper and you'll get the same result and the same quality...

I did mine for 80$ and the guy fabricated it in front of me and it looked exactly the same and wow!!! A++ quality.... just go to a professional and they will know what to do!.... OH by the Way!!!! Don't tell him they sell the PART!!! and if you do .. tell him that is like 40$... so that way he makes a fair price

By the way... do the XPIPE... if u do a straight... there's some kind of a burbly sound and that's because there's no acoustic and no backpressure since it's straight flow... and it resonates in the stock muffler...

Good luck!

Meisterschaft + X-pipe and call it a day. You want more sound...work up front with headers, delete the muffler, or trade up to a 63.
