I use 4GB Extreme IV and 8GB Ultra II Sandisk Compact Flash cards with Sandisk PCMCIA adapter and never had such issue.

I bought a no-name 16GB SDHC from eBay (Hong Kong), and no issues with skipping. Do you have another card you can try? Maybe you can isolate the issue.

Yeah, I havent had a problem like that before. I would isolate what's wrong first like killacam said.

High speed is need for digital SLR cameras an like, it also helps in the car when the card is first inserted but any slow memory card should be fast enough for MP3 playing. It could be your PCMCIA adapter or the memory card.

I just received the Transcend CF 8gb Ultra Speed 133x card with the Transcend CF Adapter, no problems at all. Loading of music from the CF card takes no longer than a DVD. I am very happy with this method, pretty easy to replace songs on a whim without wasting/storing/maintaining of disks.

I have tried SD HC cards without problems but I prefer to use Compact Flash cards because I have those for the digital SLR and the card connectors are more reliable in a car environment.

Are you doing apples to apples comparison with the DVD and the memory card in the sense that you have the same number of titles on both? 133x is not the fastest possible memory card but should be way faster than reading a DVD.

Diesel Benz, I guess I can measure this a little more accurately since I only have about 2GB on the CF card, currently. I might have misread but for some reason I was left with the impression that reading through PCMCIA with comparable volume was a bit slower compared to DVD...

Hi

I am tired to read all the posts. I bought an Sandisk PCMCIa adapter for Comand APS:
http://www.amazon.de/PCMCIA-Adapter-.../dp/B003IIWT46

+ 8 GB Ultra CompactFlash card.

I put mp3 files on in, and guess what see on the display?. no readable audio file.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix it?

Thanks !

Mine

I'm using a SanDisk 6 in 1 PC Card adapter ($35 on Amazon) with 4gig Kingston SDHC card. No problems with skipping or anything else.
