All depends on how you drive and what tires you are using. I know many tires that won't last 12,000 miles.

What's your tread wear rating and is your car lowered?

Yeah with 380 you probably should...but treadwear ratings should only be compared within brands not across brands. Don't know how spirited your driving is but I had Nankang NS-II on my G Coupe 275/35/19 and after 10,000 miles they looked brand new. They had a 300 rating I think.

Or it could be your tire pressure, do you see the treadwear triangles on the side of your tire? That will tell you if you tires are over/underinflated.

Good Lord.

My 18" Bridgestone RE050A (not cheap rags) have a 140 tread wear rating and at 20K miles have 7/32" tread remaining. They probably had 10/32 when new which means I have 5/32 usable remaining, theoretically. And, I make no particular effort to conserve tires or brakes.

Your extra 40hp over my C300 is not the main reason for your fast wearout, I'm thinking. Why Generals, may I ask?

BTW, it is true that you cannot compare tread wear ratings brand to brand because they are not necessarily comparable. There are no Federal standards for this, BTW.

My rears are pretty much done at 15.5K. Ultra high performance tires definitely wear much faster. My previous M3 tires would last about 10K.

I got generals because i feel they are comfortable, thought they had long treadwear, affordable, perform decently for daily use.

His car is not lowered. Shouldn't need an alignment. Mine are aligned and wearing evenly. I check tire pressures religiously. 15K from ultra high performance tires is not bad.

I actually just took off my rears today. What do you guys think? Should I change them yet? There's about 1mm to the wear bars.

I got Generals as well, 265/30/19 and they last me a safe 15k. Fronts are about 30k.

Believe me, there is nothing you can really do about it, other than non spirited driving. On the same wheels I had sizes ranging from 255-265 from different manufacturers. Tires were Goodyear Eagle's ($240 a piece back then, now $300 for the exact same model), Michelins ($250 a piece back then, now 300+ for the exact same model), Continental ($200+) and now General Exclaim's ($160 a piece) with which I am super happy with because they last me 3k miles longer, have a grip just as good for all day driving and they do NOT get noisy when approaching their life's end.

You WILL NOT find a better tire for that money.
BTW - I believe that the General Exclaims are made by Continental.

My wear is even too, and looks just like your wheel. I guess its normal to get 15K on these tires.

Anyone get longer treadwear on a tire this size?

I do like the General tire though, and you cant beat the price!

It's sad but I dunno what size tires I have on my C, I never really paid attention, I got the c300 sport, probably 18". I have 10k miles on it now, and they look brand new still, probably could last 25-30k at this rate... However, on my Infiniti g37 with 19" rims and Potenza summer tires only lasted 15k... I did drive somewhat like a maniac, but I feel that even if I hadn't, they surely would not have last more than 17-20k... Its just a fact of life with these tires/rims. Part of the reason why I decided to go with a more conservative tire/rim size this time around.

On a side note, it appears as though you are getting uneven wear on your tires, are your tires appropriately inflated. Also, more importantly, it doesn't seem like you rotated your tires. If not front to rear, at least side to side... That could certainly buy a couple thousand miles more.

As far as getting them replaced. While they have significant wear, we are approaching the summer months and you should be fine, just take it easy if there should be any rain as it may not provide as much traction, especially if you should hit a puddle, you won't be able to whisk away the water as well, resulting in some slide. But if you rotate the tires, you can get probably another 5k out of them, pushing you to 20k miles, which is fair for tires. Also, this will buy you time until hopefully late September, when you will start to need new tires heading into the fall and winter months, and maybe look into getting all-seasons or winters?

Edit: LOL @ Benyl with the post of the picture above... Those tires look like your about to get a blow-out, while sarcasm is sometimes hard to identify over the internet. I just want to make it clear that those tires should be replaced ASAP!

Toyo T1R. Was at 15k when I sold my last set of wheels with the tires and still had more than 50% tread left.

The tire wear is actually even, it may look uneven because of the lighting and shadows. The depth on the wear bars are the same.

Also, you can't rotate unidirectional tires with a staggered setup. General UHPs are unidirectional.

I hate the undirectional wheel, I have he stock C63 p-zero on and they are undirectional so I cant flip them from side to side. I will definitely buy tires that can be used on both sides of the tires. I do notice that our C does have a negative camber, not a whole lot, but a lil from the factory.

Are you sure about the PZeros. They are an assymetric tread, meaning there is an outside and an inside, but they can be rotated from side to side.

My Bridgestone Turanza 205 16's rears will be down to limits at 30,000 km ie around 19,000 miles . I am a conservative driver but am blaming the 400 Nm of torque .

So I reckon the young fellows obtaining 15,000 miles are doing well.

In my youth 4000 miles out of a set of cross ply tyres was the norm before radials appeared on the scene. Wow, that is dating me!!
